Awesome news. A Notch beer garden sounds perfect.

Nice! I wonder if it'll be the three Notch flagships plus whatever seasonal is up, or if there's any chance he'll be making some of his seasonal/rotating beers available more frequently there. Being able to pick up some Cerne Pivo or Polotmavy (or etc.) "out of season" would be awesome.

According to Gary Dzen's Globe article from today, Lohring "intends to keep Notch small, offering eight to 10 oft-rotating beers on tap."

It would be awesome to see a constant cask on rotation

Might be the way we finally see a steady stream of Notch bitters/ESBs, which seemed like destiny 5 years ago...

Flagships will be on tap once in a while, but non-flagships will be the core of the offerings. Czech and German lagers will be our main direction, as we'll have a decoction capable brewhouse with open and closed fermentation and lagering tanks. Also, Berliner Weisse and other beers that have been difficult to brew at my contract breweries will be more readily available.

Yes. Cask will be available, how often we are not sure yet. I love traditional cask ale, but demand will dictate how often. Would love to have Brit cask ale on a consistent basis. Also gravity pours of lagers will be in the rotation.

And hoppy offerings from the Single Series will be offered and expanded - Zen Arcade, Infinite Jest, The Mule Corn Lager, etc. It should be a fun spot for low gravity beers of many varieties. We'll even offer a few non-session beers from time to time, especially traditional lagers.

Thanks for the interest, much appreciated!

I can't wait for this place to open. You don't get to see a lot of the types of beer Notch brews unless you travel abroad.

Hey @ChrisLohring, how long til the brewery is up and running? I know that these things can be unpredictable...

Hoping for March / April 2016. So many variables right now, but we should have a better idea on an opening date later this year.

This sounds fantastic, and Salem is such a great location. Once Ipswich finally opens their brewpub doors to join Cape Ann it's going to make for great brewery hopping days on the North Shore!

Best of luck on having things go smoothly.

Yes, I'm really happy with the arrangement at Two Roads for canning and we'll continue to brew there. We will can in Salem for beers such as Hootenanny, The Mule, Zen Arcade, Infinite Jest and other some new lagers we'll develop.
