New to Ohio (2015)

LEM was awful this year. Banana bomb. I emailed them about it and they said it was supposed to be like that.

 

I didn't have a problem with Chillwave. Thought Lake Erie Monster was gross - I loved it last year. Could be my palate, but who knows.

The rest of their lineup tastes the same to me.

 

Chillwave, blackout, and eddy fitz are same delicious as always to me. So, in other words, everything is just fine.

 

I can't comment on their year round offerings like Fitz or Blackout because I haven't had them in years. BA Blackout was great though. It's the seasonal offerings that traditionally have gotten my money but lately not so much.

 

Dude, Chillwave has only existed for what 3 years.

I had to leave Hoof Hearted right as those corked bottles were being moved into the refrigerators behind the bar. Any of the bottles make it out into the wild?

 

They had two pallets of Roller Blabe at about 2pm when I left. There were a lot more people there than there were for the past canning party releases. I'm pretty sure they will have some to distribute.

 

Can't recall whether or not I compared it to a session but my first impression of it was similar to one. However I think my palate was probably off (felt a little sick at the time). I know they tweaked some of the hops in the latest batch and it was phenomenal.

Monster was borderline drain pour this year. It genuinely made me nauseous drinking it to the point where I felt like I had accidentally bought last years batch. If there is a GLBC "hate train" as you put it, there's probably good reason. There have been countless mentions on how bad Monster and Oktoberfest was this year. It's going downhill. Maybe not for everyone, but I don't think I am alone in thinking this. No need to try and attack anyone for not agreeing with your opinions. It's just beer, chill out. Some people take this shit way too seriously.

 

What were in the bottles? I was sitting at the bar for a couple of pints between 1-2pm and I didn't see any bottling. They were finished with the canning at that time, I think. Is Buckeye Canning also bottling things now?

 

Pretty sure it was Crossing Swords. That was being added to the chalkboard as I was checking out.

 

They had run out of it and almost everything else they were pouring. Dang it! I haven't had one of their farmhouse ales yet. Have you had the Crossing Swords?

 

Unfortunately not...and I wasn't able to stick around to try it yesterday.

 

Finally cracked open a Roller Blabe and wow! I'm very impressed. I agree with the previous pineapple sentiment. Should've grabbed more than a single 4-pack. lol.

 

Pretty sure they are going to distribute. They had a whole lot left yesterday unless they are planning on taking it all up to Cleveland stadium?
