You are not the first person I have heard this from. It's not the experience I had this year (though I did not have any bottles), but I have heard this from another person. Take that for what it is worth.

I believe that my Ohio bottle shop is getting Neptune this week (possibly today).

    Anyone been here? Thoughts? http://www.butcherandthebrewer.com/

Wife and I are doing a small weekend trip up to the NE OH and she was trying to find a good food and beer combo. Plans to hit FH, TBK, TD, HFrog, JAFB, Willoughby & GL if we've got time for it all.

Food is fantastic. I've loved the Smoked Corn dogs, chorizo tacos, Lamb ribs, & smoked bone marrow. Eric the brewer has some pretty unique beers on tap that are a good take on a traditional style. Over all I like the beers, but there's not one stand out. My personal favorites are their Berliner, Saison, and white IPA.

It's definitely worth going to if you're downtown.

I would probably eat at one of the other stops and hit Platform instead, but that's just my opinion.

Foods good, but a little on the pricey side for the smaller portion. They do all the butchering, charcuterie, etc. in house. I prefer to go their to drink rather than drink and eat. I like the uniqueness of their Albine Stout and really enjoyed their White IPA. If I was going to drink and eat I'd go with some Fatheads smoke house wings or TBK wings and pulled pork.

Totally agree with you. Food is awesome, but a little on the pricey side for the smaller portions. I think it is all about how people prioritize. For me personally, I do not like to spend a great deal of money on food, especially when the portions are rather small. However, I know many disagree and I certainly can understand it. . As someone who lives outside of downtown, food + beer + paying to park makes me realize I can have a cheaper (but just as enjoyable) evening at a beer spot outside of downtown.

I do enjoy the beers, but like Corey said above, none really stand out as amazing. Eric is definitely a strong brewer, though, and I look forward to seeing what he does in the future.

Sorry for the rant. I realize how ironic it is to talk about paying too much money for something in a craft beer forum.

Not sure if anyone has "reported" this, but Trinity Brewing Company has entered the Cleveland market...and so has Logsdon Brewing:astonished:... the Logsdon tip goes out to my buddy @awlcordell btw...the Logsdon is coming thru a small distributor...not a lot to go around.

I'm heading down to Columbus this Thursday for a wedding at the Blackwell, any chance of finding some Roller Blabe around still?

What is Hoof Hearted's taphouse hours? I tried looking online a bit but I am not sure if they are open daily or only random days or what?

I am driving back in town from Indy tomorrow and was thinking of stopping there (if open). But it will be relatively early most likely... 1-2pm or so.

So, you guys in between the Dayton/Cincy area are going to get to know me better. I got offered a job with MCM Electronics in Springboro, so I will be moving out towards that part of the state. Once we are settled and such, I plan on hosting a *small* tasting to celebrate.

That said, I'm going to be incredibly sad on my last day at Weasel Boy, which will be the week of the 28th. Such an exciting new chapter in my life though, and it means I'll get to drink more of the Warped Wing/Yellow Springs/Rhinegeist/50 West/Listermann's/etc stuff than I did previously.

Before I finish this post, I'm going to go ahead and put this here publicly: I want to thank Jay and Lori Wince for the opportunity to work for them, and to be a part of their growth and their success. It's been a fun couple years, and I know that they'll continue to make awesome beer. Weasel Boy will always be my homer brewpub, even from the other side of the state. Not that I won't be back, though, as I will stock up on Anastasia when it's back

    Cheers,
    Kef
