Drinking a case of AAL in a week is not difficult or that outrageous and is no better off than the craft fan who drinks 2 or three beers every night, its only 3.5 lite beers a day which is nothing compared to most craft options. Now a 12er a day is a different story.

Keep in mind the ABV differences between a Coors Light and the 8% brews common here. If this thread sticks, we'll see cases of this "in our own community" - not that I really think of this as a community. Just to be clear, I'm not putting down the excess seen here (I'm guilty of excess), I'm just calling attention to it in relation to an "us vs. them" point of view.

No its just over 3 per day. Which is nothing when talking about AAL.

This is exactly what I thouhgt of. Some will trash someone who drinks a case or two of AAL in a week (3-6 per day) which is eaisly comparable to the 2-3 that seems fairly normal from most of the community here.

This is true. I should have went with my gut and stuck with '2 cases' when making my remark... though judging from the direction this thread has taken I'd still have probably taken some flack.

In college, I waited on Wade Boggs one evening. I can attest that he drank 16 Coors Lights in about an hour and a half.

Also when i was on a camping trip with two buddies in college, we each averaged about 1 beer per hour for the entire duration of the 6-day trip.

I was much thinner and dumber back then.

We once did a Black Tuesday variant tasting at a bottle share that included CR, MW, GM, along with the base beer. Maybe not overly gluttonous but we have since referred to it as the "diabetes vert."

About a year ago I partook of a glutton fest, Friday afternoon after work, it started with 2 other coworkers but it ended up being a total of 7 guys. We started with an 18 pack of Bud Light (sorry no craft in this story), drank that between the three of us, another guy showed up, no more beer, another 18 pack, after this someone hit the local supermarket for two 36 packs of Bud Light. Between 7 guys we drank 2 18 packs and 2 36 packs, a total of 108 Bud Lights :grimacing: between 7 guys. I am not sure about the total beer count but one of the guys there said he had 2 empty 18 pack boxes and 2 empty 36 pack boxes in his trunk when he washed his car Saturday afternoon (we were drinking in the company parking lot).

Back in school, on game day, during the tailgate... drinking a "victory shake" was a regular occurrence for at least one person... it involved funneling some kind of keg beer (maybe yuengling) with a chopped up hot dog thrown into the funnel. We won a lot.

Usually it's the bottle shares that occur after beer fests

Tailgating as a student for a home game vs FSU, I'm fully confident that I downed at least 36 beers plus bourbon and Lord knows what else (I think a giant bottle of Smirnoff Ice was sprung upon me at some point?) Guess that isn't too bad, seeing as I started around 8:30 AM and didn't stop drinking til about 7:30 pm. I don't want to talk about the game though...I wish I couldn't remember it.

So, way back in the day... I had just gotten a bonus at work and drove over to the local homebrew store and splurged on my first keg setup, the extra fancy one that came with 2 x 2.5gal ball lock kegs. Ate up about 2/3 of my bonus. This was also long enough ago that we could buy kegs of Russian River in distro. While paying I noticed they had a keg of Pliny on the board. Cash in hand, I couldn't resist.
I got home to my small apartment, no space to store the Pliny keg, so I transferred it into the 2 x 2.5gal ones. Was working a treat, filled them both and there was "a little bit" left in the keg, so I started drinking... and drinking, and drinking. I hadn't realized that it was a 1/6th BBL keg, not a 5gal keg. So I drank a little more than a gallon of Pliny in one short sitting.
Ended the night flat on my back in the middle of the living room, trying to hold onto the carpet to stop the room from spinning. Good times.

It was 60 on a flight from Boston to Seattle if I remember the legend correctly. That was a great sunny episode. The scene with Charlie batting and speaking drunk with subtitles at the bottom of the screen was freaking hilarious.

all i can say is, not to be sexist it's just something my friends and i at college said while lifting, heavy drinking, beer pong, or football games, is MAN MODE!

i've had over half a bottle of 151 on top of nearly a case of natty light, gameday baby! Go Bucks. blackout black out party.

i have put away over 20+ natty lights in a day on many occasions, when you start at 9am 20+ beers really isn't that much.

in terms of overall gluttony we made Caribou Lou and I had 4 big glasses and held the beer pong table from 1pm to almost 8pm when the game started. then chowed down on 10 hot dogs at the stadium. i didn't get sick but i did black out, and felt like donkey the next day (and probably the day after), thank god for herbs.

i could drink a 30 of natty light, coors light, miller lite, or genesee cream ale in at least 2 days.

in terms of craft gluttony, i had a 6 pack of Little Sumpin Sumpin ale after drinking 4 Great Lakes Burning River's. i was pretty damn hung over, this was in a span of 7pm-1am. i was just getting into craft beer as well.

i've gotten into trouble after drinking quite a few craft IPAs then slamming a few dIPAs at the end of the night. i had a bunch of IPAs then put away 3 Resin's late in the night. i only slept for 6 hours and the feeling of waking up feeling drunk is not good, especially when you have to leave for work in 30 minutes. not sure what's worse: waking up feeling still drunk or feeling the hangover hit 2 hours after you've woken up? either way, i've felt both in the same day too many times. at least you can learn from it
