[IMG] My wife and I are celebrating 8 years today. Steak and red wine earlier and now my celebration beer in my favorite glass. 3 weeks shy of its 1st birthday and drinking sublime!

    Reviews:

Awesome German Pilsner! Good head retention and lacing down the glass. Aromas and flavors of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and light yeasty earthiness. Moderate herbal/spicy bitterness; with a very crisp and dry finish; with some light hops stickiness and graininess in the mouthfeel. Very well balanced noble hop and pils malt flavors; with good sized flavor robustness for 4.9%. Super clean lagering with zero off flavors or esters. The aromas were a bit weak; but the flavors delivered nothing but clean and spot on robust German pilsner flavor. One of the best I've had.

Japan DIPA. This was damn good! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, apple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitter finish; with a very smooth finish with moderate hops stickiness and light creaminess in the mouthfeel. Medium carb/body; not too heavy or malty at all. Fairly dry from bitterness as well. Once again their English ale yeast did a great job producing a great tropical type profile in tandem with the citrusy/earthy/piney hop flavors; with a nice balance of malt complexity. I checked their website and they use 2 types of sugar in this beer, which would explain the surprisingly lighter bodied finish than I expected. Very impressed.

Another awesome Griffin Claw sour ale. Surprisingly good head retention and spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big juicy apricots with sour lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, green apple, pear, white grape, honey, light white wine vinegar, hay, straw, funk, pepper, and light leather. Balanced tart/acidic/spicy finish against a moderate amount of honey malt sweetness; with a great all around balance, depth, and complexity of flavors. Very smooth and and easy to sip with the balanced sweetness and acidity. Lovely stuff as expected. I just bought a black currant one last week as well.

    Cheers!

Prepping for the Bastard Executioner with some Jester King Snorkle, a Farm House beer with Oyster Mushrooms & Sea Salt. Pickings were slim in the one shop I went into in Fort Worth, this is the only JK I purchased.

So disappointed in Bells, since they came to MD. However, The 30th Anniversary Ale and now this are quickly changing my mind.
