    They really dropped off a cliff after the first three albums; if there's a prime example of what having a hit single will do to a band Cheap trick is it. Those first three, however, are still stellar!

    you are correct about the cliff after their 4th album (IMO)

    however, start with stellar self-titled offering in 1997 and work forward...they have cranked out at least 4-5 of truly fine selections (last one being about 4-5 years ago, approx)

    anyway...post-97 work is pretty impressive
