Yeah, I mentioned to Nick awhile back that I was #jealous you PA BA's have a great group to share beers with and seem to always have good times. Anyways, I've got a little giveaway coming up, so I'll make a "guest" appearance sooner than later. It involves my daughter, so hopefully you all will like. Cheers!

Only get upgraded to first class on the less than 2 hour flights. No meal but I'm drinking all the gin and tonics they will serve me. Makes up for the shitty in flight wifi.

 

So my wife has to go to a two day meeting in Ann Arbor. I get to tag along cause she hates to travel alone. But I have a free day in Ann Arbor while she goes to meetings. Any local suggestions for a Wednesday, bottle shops, Brewies if open? Anyone local to Ann Arbor and can get a Wednesday off in November ?

Wine Seller is a good bottle shop in A2. Plum Market also has a nice beer section. Regarding breweries, Jolly Pumpkin, Grizzly Peak, Arbor Brewing Company are the first that popped into my head. Jolly Pumkn is the best of the bunch. The tap list can be very good at times and also very mediocre at times. The food is always awesome. Other good spots for beer: Ashleys, Hop Cat, Beer Grotto. Null Taphouse( which is associated with JP and also North Peak) is close by in Dexter. Their taplist is usually good. Witchs Hat is up US23 about 20 minutes in South Lyon. Let me know what Wednesday it is in November and I can check my schedule. I might not be off but I drive through A2 on my way home and could stop for a quick beer and handshake of your wife is still in meetings. If you want any other info just let me know. There are quite a few good place to eat in A2 also.

 

Wow. @vitaminvert is a generous man. It was my first LIF win, and it was a doozie. I feel like mine does not touch this, so I will have another one soon so I can equal out my beer karma.

First- Here are the cans.

Dry Dock Hefe- New brewery for me. Cant wait to give it a shot.
2x Modus Mandarina IPA from Ska Brewing- Sounded amazing so it went right in the fridge. I am drinking one now as I am writing this. Very tasty. I love the orange peel bitterness with the hop bitterness.

Family Preserves- Montmorency Cherry: come on.... This is insanely generous. I have had a taste of the base saison at a tasting and brett loves citra when i was at @Mipper 's house. I can not believe I have 2 bottles to myself. Now I don't know what to bring to my tasting I have with some friends on Friday.
Trinity- Saison Man: I have had one beer from Trinity and I enjoyed it. I love this style so I am sure I will love it.
and Red Swingline: Love the Office Space reference and this sounds like a delicious beer.
and WB Mexican Cake!!!! I actually had my first taste of this because @Mipper forced us to raid his cellar and we opened this. I might let it age a little to see the difference.

I'll copy this post. Tuesday we fly out and she is being taken out for dinner and a mixer. Not sure if I'm invited. Than Wednesday she will be in meetings my guess 9-5ish? Than we have dinner plans with some friends in AA. It's the 3rd week in November? 18-19 I think.

I will second Ian's suggestions. Ashley's will always have a fond place in my heart as the start of my ticking habit.

Also go to Zingerman's deli. You'll pay about $15 for a sandwich, but it will be gigantic and the best sandwich you ever get. I suggest #67.

 

I use to work out of AA like 10 years ago , trust me I know zingermans deli.

 

I miss Zingerman's so much.

First time having this one. Really well balanced with the Brett and great mouthfeel. Very tasty...Chicago distribution has gotten so good. I hope we get the Peach version of this, I imagine it's awesome.

 

having a hard time making up my mind on this sixer for 2 reasons. Opposite of what @valrxman has been saying.. i have plenty of beer. One could argue too much. another is idk if i can bring the heat like most of you.

 

Fill it with 6 trillium, no one will complain.

Seriously though, this is not a whale hunt. Send a box you would like to receive. That is all that is required.
