What beer are you drinking now? #1102

After some bed shopping, came home and pulled this one out :

look: 4.25 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 2.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 3

Appearance : Golden yellow color @ about 90% transparent, a towering fluffy soapy head @ 3 fingers and leaving sparse lacing as it recedes.

Smell : Right from the pour I could smell some Euro Lager influence, with pale hops and pale malts. Upon closer whiffs, I get some cooked cereal and sour mash, with some garbage smells as well.

Taste : Quite a bit of fruity esters met with smashed corn kernels in juice, with a bit of hop sting and a light baked malt character. The flavor at first is pretty great, which yields to good drinkability, but very quickly it diminishes to the sour/rotten flavors leaving ugly tastes behind.

Feel : Easily the best part of this beer. Light, crispy, creamy, carbonated.

Overall : The drinkability yields an easy pound, but the flavors at the end destroys the whole experience.

 

Ive been looking forward to this since noon. So nice to see Founders in my area finally.

I've tried quite a few IPAs and not very many of them stack up to this magnificent bastard. Pair this with jerk chicken and thank me later, cheers!

This is starting to grow on me!

 

This has aged wonderfully. So much chocolate with a nice touch of bourbon. Delish.

 

That pizza looks good enough to drive all the way from Delaware for.

 

Beer is so dark red that you can't tell it's a Solemn Oath glass. What can I say? I'm a fan.

 

What did I do? Why did I open this on a Tuesday??

 

Butters is going bonkers for the Zonker!! So do I, as it's a great stout. @JayWhitson has hooked me up with that one too!

Grabbed a 4pk of Founders Harvest, chilled one, and poured it. It's an annual classic.

To Øl Sur Amarillo. Lemony and interesting ... I like it.
