Crooked Stave Cellar Reserve pickup yesterday:

Haul, t25 by quirkzoo, on Flickr
Persica, Petite Sour, Surette Reserva, Batch #1, WWBI, (I know boxes of beer are less sexy but I didn't want to unpack them all) and 2 sweet ass glasses.
And a friend hand delivered two T25 when I asked him to "gopickitupformebro" on Friday (probably the first T25 to make it to Colorado?).

First successful "gopickitupformebro" in history? Well done, quirk! Whales, bro.

Totally agreed. Already drank one of them. It was really sweet and hot, but not as complex as I was expecting at four years old. Gonna age the other two. Heard nothing but amazing things about 5+ year old bottles.

With Summer winding down through the Dog Days, I purchased a final batch of seasonal styles to carry me deep into September. Then it's on to Oktoberfests and other Autumnal styles. Bought over the last two weekends.

Also, my wife's cousin lives in FL. She brought me some Cigar City beers the we she came to visit a few weeks ago. Needless to see she is my new favorite cousin-in-law!

Not a haul but picked up a case of Gumball and a sweet glass at FFF. Went for some Zombie but they ran out 2 days before I got there.

well it's not like king henry was all that rare. two beers being one-offs with good brewer pedigree in a hyped style, it makes sense that the smaller-bottle-count one available in one area for a couple of days would trade higher. and i'm absolutely positive people are sitting on tons of king henry for future trade value, not that most of it has been drank.

probably should have coordinated stories with a certain troll reviewer that got his hands on a pour.

Damn... that is one old KBS. It says "Kentucky Breakfast Stout" rather than "KBS". I think it first started saying "KBS" on the label in 2010. You can check the vintage by looking at the sides of the bottle near the very bottom, the month and year of the bottling will be engraved in the bottle itself. For example, it will say something like "02 09", so it would have been bottled in February of 2009.
