Went to Lakewood Brewery today so that the youngest will stop being made at me for taking her older brother and not her last weekend.

They were having a tapping of their holiday porter and keep the glass event so I got me a new glass and enjoyed a new beer...Holiday Bonus.

MMmmmm a pounder of pure ecstasy. Actually this might be better if I ate some ecstasy first. Cheers!

My turkey beer offering is one of my own homebrews: something I called Bourbon Barrel Porter. It was my second brew and I overestimated my skills after a drinkable first attempt. I made a porter from a local extract kit and then decided to add some bourbon and oak chips. I love bourbon and was way too enthusiastic with my additions. Hoping it would mellow out, I set it aside for several months.

Looks great! Opaque brown with a generous tan head. And from there it's all downhill. The smell is a mixture of Jim Beam, charcoal, and ash. Oxidized. It tastes like whiskey aged on wet cardboard followed by a blast of charred oak with some mouth-puckering tannins. The over-carbonation reminds me that there is also some beer in there. But what the hell. It's beer and I learned something. Cheers!

Being from VT originally and now living in NH despite what I have read I think this is actually a little light on the maple taste. A nice Barleywine IMO but would have liked a little more maple flavor.

A Lagunita's IPA and an Italian feast at Tuscany after FOBAB. A terrible picture, but I'm amazed that I'm still functional. Trying to decide what's left in the tank after such a big beer day?

Love the Spencer glassware! Have stayed at the Trappist community there several times, top-notch men and a great cause to support.

Guaranteed not to be your last. Trillium beers have a way of becoming and addiction to some.

Avery Raja DIPA, I love this stuff, so juicy and well made, tastes extra good on a 90 degree day here in the Shore doing yard work and getting the house ready for holiday guests even though it feels like summer.

    Cheers………..

    Happy Saturday!
I'm doing like @Buck89 and subjecting myself to a failed homebrew stout for pre-Turkey day.
It actually looks okay and has more carb than when it was first bottled. Smells like unfermented yeast and vomit. Real nice stuff. Taste is pretty similar with the addition of lots of wet cardboard. I definitely won't tackle this whole bomber, especially since BA told me it's my 6 year anniversary here :grimacing: -- I'll be having a non-turkey beer very soon!
    Cheers!
