What beer are you drinking now? #1129

Ticking some new beers today. Victory Hop Ticket Rye now.

 

My sister was in town and dropped off some beers, so I took the day off to drink them. Nothing like end of the year with days to burn.

 

Starting with the 2012 and 2015 GABF gold medalist Devils Backbone Vienna (3.90).

 

Hell, yeah he does! Gods! I watched Episode IV the other night and nearly lost my dinner seeing again that hatchet video job Luca$film$ pulled inserting Greedo's so-called first shot. Arrrgggghhhh!!!!!

Not sure where the name comes from, but it is a great beer.

Love this beer and it goes over well with the macro crowd.

Having this dry-hopped "super" saison and doing some stuff around the house. It finally is starting to feel a little more like winter.

Smuttlabs Cherry Short Weisse

Berliner Weissbier / 4.90% ABV

3.61/5 rDev -4.7% | Avg: 3.79
look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.5

L-Pinkish straw in color with a slight haze. Head is maybe a quarter inch which fades to a thin ring.
S- Cherries with a faint sour note.
T- Cherries are faint up front with the sour middle and lingering finish.
F-The carbonation is medium giving the beer a prickly finish that helps with the sourness of the beer. Light mouthfeel overall.
O- Bottled in August 2015 this bottle feels like it may be a little past it's prime. For all that it is still a decent drinkable Berliner style weisse. I would prefer a little more cherry overall, but the flavor may have faded some due to age.

 

Happy Monday BAs...home from work and having the first brew. Unibroue Trois Pistoles. I probably haven't had one of these in almost a year. Almost forgot how good a beer this is.

This tastes pretty much as advertised, and a bit like a Mounds candy bar. Part of me is tempted to blend some of this with a Ten Fidy. I'm not a big fan of coconut, but this is quite interesting in a good way. I'd love to try the barrel aged version of this.

Good Monday morning/now good afternoon...Another of the beers I got in Ohio his week end - "Buck Snort Stout" from North Country Brewing Co., Slippery Rock, PA:



Lite roast malt. 7% and a little bittersweet finish. Cheers!

 

Someday I will have the fortune of trying some Sixpoint. Someday I will be in a store that sales it or it will be on tap at place I frequent. Until then I will enjoy it via the pics here in this wonderful thread.
