Day 4 is a good one for early drinking

I have to apologize to my overly generous sender @Dave_Treat ...I got home after not sleeping all night, chasing BC until mid afternoon, and passed out. I think I opened my eyes twice from 3pm - 9am this morning. Overdue **** and a drunk lefty coming soon...

I found out not matter how much I drink, I can't sleep outside in a chair in 40 degree whether while it's raining. Even a tranquilizer like BT Reserve couldn't put me down.

 

Speaking of someone not expecting it, keep your eye on your porch today.

 

Sorry I didn't post last night, long fukin day on 3 hours of sleep! Day 3 was another big want, @twofacedmonster has been KILLING it


As I teared the wrapping paper from Day 3 I revealed a cork with Hanger 24 printed on it and for the life of me I can't remember anything about this brewery!

Smells strong! Nice bourbon notes, roasty, and a certain sweetness I just can't place. Anxious to see what this is.


Damn Bryan, you sure have made my box look like shit! I'm kinda nervous to see what the next 3 days have in store. Thanks so much bud, I can't thank you enough for all these huge wants! BTW this Pugachev's Cobra is delicious!

Just wanted to come apologize for not getting any day 3 **** up yesterday. Late thursday night I started getting really sick with some kind of stomach bug (or maybe it was the Packers loss) which I'm still dealing with this morning. Just wanted to say sorry to my sender @UcDru for having to delay my participation. Day 1 and 2 were excellent.

 

Sooo much crazy pRon... Just added around 25 wants to my list based on the last two days only. What beautiful, beautiful pRon...

 

Now that is just a beautiful label. Not sure exactly what it is but I would buy that beer based purely on the label.

How have I not known about this brewer? I cruised there beers list on here and they look awesome! After the holidays if anyone wants to hook me up with some of these I will make it worth their while in MJ's (and beer).

Holy Crap @NickyPogs ! My mouth started watering when I saw that FTR.

I'm going to go ahead and admit to searching BA for approximately ten minutes for this "beer" before realizing it was maple syrup. DatMapleSyrup though!

And thanks to @Clarkson I didn't have to spend all goddamn day in the cold ass rain chasing a bottle of BCBS here or there when most stores were hiding them.

 

Of the 60 or so wants you actually have on BA, this one was one that I felt was a good enough option that I could get.

I am like a few other people on here. I left south jersey around 11 on thanksgiving to go to NYC for BC release. South jersey isnt releasing theirs until December 1st, so a friend from the area and relatively new BA'er @captainkrad went up to Top Hops to wait in line for 8 hours. I preached the fun of BIFs, so maybe he will jump in some day.
Here is the view at about 530 when it was starting to lighten up.

They opened at 9 and the first 150 were guaranteed 1 Rare, 1 Regal, 1 Coffee, 2 BW, and 4 Regular. So I did that and also picked up a case of regular (they had hundreds) for about 10% off with the base price being 10.99. Quite a deal.

we stopped at a few stores nearby without any luck. so we grabbed lunch then went back to top hops for the tapping at noon. got to try regal and coffee on tap.

$5 for 5 oz pours. It was pretty great to try them after waiting in line for them. The regal was refreshing and drinkiable at 13.5% the sweetness came through as juice instead of sugary as some big stouts are, but the salinity catches up after even 5 ounces. it made me thirsty and coated my tongue. Still delicious. then the coffee. I think it blows last years out of the water. none of the bitterness, and huge roasted coffee notes. tasted like barrel aged chocolate covered espresso beans. I am upset I only got 1. I would buy a case if I could find it- or flip my rare for some of them. We also got back in line and they were selling old BC regulars for the same price they did those years and got 4 each of 13 and 14 for 6.99 a bottle! I am going to be doing some fun verts coming up.


This will probably be my last camping for BC variants. It was fun, but once in my life is plenty.

Also stopped at carton on the way home and got epitome and ss yirgacheffe and something for my 12DoX target (well they will probably get a can of each too as extras).

Now the bad part. I came home and ate leftovers, helped get christmas decorations out then passed out for 11 hours. I planned on taking a nap then waking up and drinking day 3 but it didnt work out. I didnt want to bring day 3 and drink it at 6 in the morning after not really sleeping.

So I unwrapped it when I got home last night and @Kramerbarthomer 's generosity blows me away. I can not wait to get into this tonight with day 4 (which I unwrapped today) I think they will be an amazing 1-2 combo.

Now to the reason we are here!


Casey FP: peaches!! wow. seriously wow. @Kramerbarthomer said he was adding a bottle from the release at casey he went to and I saw the line-up and thought there is no way this is the one that he will send... well I was wrong.

BBA Dark Star! Huge want. I am going to a family party (my family is huge so there will be like 70 people there) so I am leaving these til tonight. I am bring some carton for them- no 6 days beers!

Day 3 & 4...

So my daughter thought these were presents for her...luckily she enjoys opening presents more than what's actually inside. She did say "Beer for Daddy!" when she opened them which was both funny and a little disconcerting.

Oude Tart w/ Cherries - Big want...Oude tart was fantastic, Oude Tart w/ cherries & vanilla was amazing...I can only imaging that this one will also deliver.

Saison Bernice - Another monster want...hits me right in the flavor hole.
