Had a .44 Magnum from 4 Noses last night, really good IIPA, slightly on the sweet side but very enjoyable.

Anyone had the Backcountry DIPA from this year? With all of their recent changes, I'm curious if it's still one of the best.

I haven't seen it hit town since the spring and I haven't been up to the brewery.

I don't know if/when we'll get the bottles in Denver again, but they did show a picture of it on their FB recently. No clue if that's only for the brewpub or if they're sending it elsewhere or what. I'm just hopeful that it hasn't fallen off.

I was up there in August and spoke to them about their DIPA, they said they send almost all of their beer now to Texas? We may not see it down here from what I gathered. Seemed like a strange situation.

Yup. That's 100% true. I didn't want to say anything as I wasn't sure how public that info was, but I guess they're forthright about it. I hope (for their sake) that this doesn't bury them locally.

Yeup. I had to move them from a good shelf spot to a not-so-good b/c they couldn't keep the backstock. Almost dropped them completely b/c of it.

I had it on tap in July (I think) at the brewery, although I haven't had it prior I found it to be on par with what people have said it about it. Very delicious!

That would have been the "old" one, which is/was definitely among our finest. Pretty similar to Superpower. They have since changed brewers and their business plan. The last few times I've been up that way they were out of a LOT of beers (including flagships) and were having issues supplying other draft accounts, too.

I really, really hope this doesn't bury them. Their previous brewer (now at Dry Dock) busted his ass to put them on the map.

Glad I got to try the old version, then! Hope they can rebound from the loss of Alan.

This may have been mentioned, but I went to Comrade and had the Superdamp IPA brewed with CO hops about a month-and-a-half ago. It was one of the freshest-tasting, most dynamic and sublime drinking experiences I've ever had (I'd say without question it's better than Pliny).

Just kidding. The OR hop version is still on I think. Worth going back IMO.
