What beer are you drinking now? #1145

Tonight, I sampled two new brews I found in the market. One is Belzebuth Rouge and the other Cuvee des Trolls. I preferred the sweeter Belzebuth to the Trolls.

 

This is a lot like Heineken but less Dutch lager yeast flavor and a bit more German hops.

 

I just picked up a 4 pack of these. It should be fun to get into it.

 

LNBA's, it's farfalle pasta with meat sauce and a half diced up onion with Dirty Little Pig IPA and big thanks to @KarmicSkrambl8 for making it possible!

 

Hump Day!

First it was a stout from a longtime Denver brewery that doesn't get nearly enough credit, Bull & Bush, Stonehenge:



Then I got home and had a hankering for malts, so I cracked open a Bourbon County Barleywine and started sipping:

Finishers:

Always delicious! Robust flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted coffee beans, dark bread, cream, toast, and light char. Balanced bittersweet finish; with a nice amount of creaminess in the mouthfeel with some light roasted malt stickiness. Very flavorful for 5%. Will probably buy another 6 pack if they are still around.


A great IPA. Flavors of big tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine; with light cracker/honey malts and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness; with a very smooth, crisp, and sticky/resinous mouthfeel. Highly dry finish with the minimal overall malt presence. No complaints at all about this one, definitely a lot of delicious Mosaic and Simcoe hop character going on here.


This is a fantastic pale ale. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, and pine; with a moderate amount of honey/bready malt sweetness and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/piney bitterness. Nicely crisp/sticky finish with some light bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. A lot of bright hoppy flavor. Just grabbed another single this week, will definitely do so again. Hope a fresher batch shows up eventually.


One of my main go-to local Black IPAs in season; along with Short's Bludgeon, when it's around. Juicy tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; balanced by chocolate, cocoa, toast, and light charred malts. Good amount of pine/roast bitterness on the finish; with a smooth and moderately sticky mouthfeel with light creaminess. Super smooth and great balance. Always delicious.

Moving on to an Oskar Blues Death By Coconut, was so pleased to find this in the store!
