When were you at RPI? I was there from 1992 - 1999 for my BS and MS.

I worked in the Clubhouse Pub in the Student Union in the mid-1990s and knew Matt Patricia (Defensive Coordinator for the New England Patriots) from my time there.

I got an infected sixer of Samuel Adms Oktoberfest a few years ago. I emailed them thinking that was the end of that, but a rep called me, asked a few questions about bottle codes and thanked me. A week later I got a check for $25 and a pair of SA beer glasses. That's a class act.

    Great story! Thanks for sharing.

Shoutout to @Sixpoint for listening to feedback and making things right with Jammer earlier this year. I was blown away by their customer service.

Another shoutout to Ramstein / High Point Brewing Co. for staying the course all these years. While other breweries are tackling each other to create the next big IPA or barrel-aged stout, these guys continue to stay true to their mission of making solid, delicious German-style ales and lagers.

Have to say I really appreciate the existence of Devil's Backbone -- good beer, a brewery that's close enough that I could actually drive over and visit whenever I felt like it (speaking of which, I seriously need to get around to doing that soon... it's barely any further from my apartment than the drive to work every day or so!), and since they're so close it's easy to find pretty much all of their beers on the shelves and fresh. You can even find them on tap in a few places around here.

Sierra Nevada and New Belgium too -- consistently good and widely-available beer, with variety packs that are great both price-wise and beer-wise (can't imagine ever not picking up a Sierra Nevada variety pack when they come out in the future, considering that some of my favorite beers from them so far have been variety-pack exclusives and more fresh bottles of Pale Ale and/or Torpedo are always a good thing too.)

Between those three, I don't think I'll feel like I'm missing out on too much as I go into the new year only drinking beers I've had at least once before. XD

Definite shout out to sierra Nevada, stone, and lagunitas. When you live out here in the middle(Kansas) you can still have world class, inexpensive, craft beer easily obtainable. May not see many whales, but can still enjoy these mighty fine breweries. Thanks!

1999-2003. Have you been back to Troy more recently to see The Ruck has become a top notch craft beer bar? And a new brewery downtown too, Rare Form.

Shout out to Oxbow in Newcastle Maine. My son & I stopped on a rainy Sunday October morning following a huge Saturday event, (we didn't know about the fall celebration). One of the two gals that was busy cleaning the grounds, (from what appeared to be one hellava event) stopped what she was doing & invited us into the tap room. She served us beers & gave us the nickel tour of the place. She stated she was working on about 2 hours of sleep, but the whole time she was very friendly & hospitable. Kudos to this out of the way brewery & the gracious host.

Also a shout out to the crew at Gravity Growlers in Augusta GA. These guys work extremely hard keeping 15-20 taps rotating w/ great selections like Creature Comforts, Cigar City, Orpheus, Burnt Hickory, & many other southern & national beers!

OP: Nice idea for a thread:slight_smile:

shout out to NEBCO in CT!! completely flipped around and doubled their brewery in 2 months. now back to pushing out those world class brews they are so famous for. plus, the backhandedness of some of their beer labels (new G-Bot can and IST labels) remind us all that everything cant always be so serious. Cheers, NEBCO!!

Shout out to 903 Brewers and Ivanhoe Ale Works in Sherman and Denison, Texas.

Grayson County (hour north of Dallas, borders Oklahoma) was absent of decent beer options and both these places are making some mighty tasty beers.

Shout out to Victory for working with a local university run company to test new quality control equipment, Veriflow brewPal, that will help all brewers improve the quality of the beer they produce. A few other brewers, including Weyerbacher, Yards, Russian River, and Kettlehouse, got involved later in the project for additional validation.

    http://www.phillyvoice.com/west-philly-company-teams-victory-brewery-clean/

From article "...the previous method of [bacteria] testing (read: the old-school petri dish way) can take as long as a week; with the fast-paced environment of a brewery, the time's not always there for thorough testing...And if we find out we have lactic-acid bacteria in the beer, and it's out the door, it's too late -- we're looking at an expensive recall situation," he said. "But with brewPal, we're able to detect the bacteria in less than three hours. We're doing those quality checks before we ever package the beer, and we feel confident...' "

Shout out to the whole NY Capital region beer scene. So many great bars with Henry St., The Ruck, Beer Belly, Madison Pourhouse, City Beer Hall, Capital City Gastropub. New breweries sprouting up with Rare Form, Common Roots, Wolf Hollow, S&S and others. Tons of killer spots to buy beer with Westmere, Olivers, Hoosick Bev, Latham Bev and EBI. It really is a joy to be a beer drinker around here.

Also, shoutout to Good Nature Brewing in Hamilton, NY. Cranking out awesome beers and were just approved for a big, new brewery in that area so they can start churning out even more.

Shout out to Discount Liquors in Milwaukee. My wife and I were visiting the shop in May. We had a cart full of beers we cannot find in Ohio. One of the workers looked at our cart full, and offered us a few rare treats from the store room. We were blown away. Needless to say, whenever in the area, we will be back at Discount Liquors.

Shout out to R&L Liquors in Lewes Delaware. My wife and I were visiting the shop in July. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Tom. After Tom showing us the beer apps, we began to shop. As we filled our cart, Tom offered us a bottle out of the cellar. Tom also recommended some local Breweries, which we had already planned to visit. We will be visiting R&L again this year, and plan on a possible trade or two..

Shout out to my local brewery Founder's.

Been visiting the brewery over the last 10 years. As the brewery grows and expands, they still give the same great customer service they did when they were a new up and coming struggling brewery!
