    Despite the amazing reviews that this barleywine receives on BA, I found it fairly underwhelming. It tasted of pure bitterness and alcohol. No complexity whatsoever. Then again, it wasn't aged in any way (less than a year) but I would have expected it to taste great even fresh.

    Photobucket, grrrrr. Anyway, I was saving this for NBS, but what the heck - CCB's Sardo Numspa, an imperial stout (11.5%) with notes of creamy hazelnut and vanilla, chocolate cake, and a "spice" I assume is from the Cypress wood:

    I'm liking well enough, but would have preferred more alcohol bite, or peppers instead of Cypress...

    Shame you missed Citrasaic, it was awesome. As you said a brewery would be hard pressed to rival their beer selection on any given day and have all of them be good to great. That BA Coffee and Cigs is delicious.
