    How, in this day and age, can a "brewer" (and the Owner who hired them) do this? FFS, I'm sure UToob has brewing instructional vid's and there's plenty of Brewin' Fer DumEs books out there.
    Oh wait, there's more to commercial brewing than stirring the soup.
    Darwin, take me away!

    Oh, Dave. What will this beer scene do without you? Seriously, what will we do?

    How hard can brewing beer be anyways? Toss in some corn, wheat and cherrios (or some other malty cerial, I would maybe try Lucky Charms) in some water and boil for a while. Then toss in a few dashes of hops and salt to taste. Then bottle or keg, wait a bit and then enjoy.

    Stopped by U4ic today. The beer was not great, but drinkable. Only 3 beers on-tap as they ran out of the other 2. Nice people and they even bought us the first round because their internet was down and they could not run cards. Sketchy phone service there as well. Like going back in time 15-20 years. They are not planning on bottling until this summer at the earliest and most of the brewery equipment you see is not in service and will not be until demand requires. Plenty of room for expansion and they are planning on slowly ramping up. I would check this place out again in a couple months to see if the beer improves. I have confidence it will.

    Most of their Untappd check-ins are themselves giving all of their beers 5/5 ratings.

    I'll be hitting this place before the summer sometime. Maybe sooner.

    Has anyone every checked Facebook reviews of places? Every place is rated high 4's out of 5.....how can anyone take those seriously. Unfortunately some of these places think that means they are doing good. Has anyone ever seen a bad or even average review....there must be some :slight_smile: Check out these scores..

    Maple Island=4.6
    10K=4.9
    Big Axe 4.7
    Nutmeg=4.9
    Hayes Public House=4.9

    I could go on.

    Ya, I've never taken Facebook reviews serious regardless of the business type. People will often give 5 star reviews on places that haven't even opened yet.

    Disgruntled Brewing just released a new beer called Contaminated Lemonade. Sounds appetizing.

    I agree, I visited Schell's when they opened & I wasn't overly impressed, but they have gotten a bit better over time...Damn, I'm getting old:wink:

    I am quite sure that these places are deleting the bad reviews and having friends add on good reviews. When East Lake went through their big fiasco, a bunch of people were adding one star reviews and within hours they were gone and replaced with great reviews.

    I can't speak for what they are or are not doing, but the Facebook page owner can remove what he wants to remove. IOW, if you are looking for objective reviews, don't bother with Facebook.

    I was surprised to see all the "good" reviews on FB as well for some of the, well, less than deserving brewery/brewpub operations. Nutmeg was just so obvious it was funny. F-Town too.

    Is 10k and Maple Island that bad as well?

    Just think of a business's Facebook page as advertising.

    Does anyone know if Roets in Jordan is getting closer to opening? They looked like they were close late last year, but I haven't seen an update for a few months now.

    Should be a few weeks out...

    Total inside joke. It has been a few weeks out for about a year. I know a few people more info, but stay with the "few weeks" timeline and you will always be fine.

    I'm under the impression that you can't delete reviews from Google or Facebook. I have run a business page in the past and could never figure out how to get rid of a 1 star facebook review. I'm sure you could contact the person themselves and have them delete it from their end, but as a business owner I don't think you can. I've seen a lot of businesses respond to bad reviews though.

    It's very annoying to see 5 star reviews for places that aren't open when you know it's their family or friends leaving fake reviews. I make an attempt to leave an honest review at those types of places when I go.

    And I can confirm that Roets is a few weeks out. Just like they've been since last spring.

    That is correct. I just checked on the FB page I manage, and I can't delete reviews. You can select an option that says "I don't like this review" or something of that nature. You are then prompted to select either this review is not about this page or this review shouldn't be on FB.
