I would bet that the winner is someone who doesn't live within 3-4 hours of the taproom, and is the type that pays hundreds for bottles of TG online.

Which I'm totally cool with, because it's a neat cause. Raptor Bob and the eagles project brought a lot to the Northeast Iowa area.

Although to sign up one must go to the taproom. Private flights exist, so, still not out of the question!

Or, you know, fly to MSP, Rochester, Cedar Rapids, and drive to Decorah. Which quite a few people did for the MD release.

there have been several postings of this in the quad cities facebook group, and from my personal experience, even a 6 months old iowa bomber > fresh florida can. I just walk past the cans everytime, I'd rather spend the $ on TG bomber even if it's something else.

I wish they bottled more sue and zeelander instead of pompeii.

This post wins the last 20-30 pages of this thread. It shouldn't even be an ongoing debate.

Wonder if WI will get any. It's cool that they are hooking up IA though!

Seriously the bomber was still popping with more orange tropical juicyness. I understand that looks have little to do with final result but there is still quite a difference in the Brew Hub Pseudo.

Yes, agreed but on the other hand, it's really hard to argue that this is the same beer, same recipe, etc. when they look so different. Presumably there is a reason why they have to filter the beer, though.

Or, you know, some people have a pilot license and can fly into Decorah and have their dad pick them up and drive them to the taproom.

Agreed. I'm really shocked they would sacrifice quality on their flagship

duplicating the same recipe from a smaller decorah system to a larger proportion won't taste the same just like cooking. automatically doubling the recipe doesn't mean it'll taste the same

I don't think anyone is calling it the same beer. There's just been an argument over how good the Florida product is.

Wait until the new brewery opens... then everyone can complain about "old brewery Sue" vs. new brewery Sue.
Drink it and support the brewery. It still taste great.

Otherwise, drink something else, like Todd the Axeman and their canning issues... It's always something.

why should I spend my money on something that taste noticeably inferior . no thanks , even Clark himself admits Florida has issues. I support the brewery because they make good beer, I won't support the brewery and buy the Florida crap when they knowingly know it's inferior.for some of us who's palette pick up the noticeable difference I'll spend my money on something else . tg beers aren't cheap why should I spend money on inferior cans when I buy better beer. quality and consistency is something some customers want

Your spacing, lack of capitalization, and poor sentence structure hurt my brain. Also, knowingly know? Is that a thing?

You can do whatever you want, complain, not complain, buy it, don't buy it. You and your "some of us who's palette pick up noticeable difference" have a choice. I think everyone, including the brewer agree they don't taste the same.
Would it make your group happier if they had batch numbers, so you can say batch X taste better than batch Y?
I'm not trying to argue, I'm just saying they know it isn't the same and I'm sure the new brewery will taste different as well, yet it will be brewed by Clark

I've seen pictures of Todd poured from the same keg that look different. Most recipes are difficult to duplicate for anything, not just beer.

Let's see side-by-side pictures of various batches from Decorah. Before Brew Hub, I recall lots of discussion on here about differences in clarity, taste, aroma, yadda, yadda.

I would agree clarity has little to do with the taste and aroma. But from the 10+ or so Decorah Sues I've had even my least favorite has been better than 99% of the FL Sue.

Growler from the source and was very clear.
