I just picked up my 4 packs. There appeared to be quite a bit. I'm guessing at a minimum, 30 cases. It was a pretty big stack.

 

I'm a frequent lunch customer at the South Side GE since I work across the street (say whatever you want, but $5 Sushi Wednesday is the highlight of my work week)...been noticing recently they've been doing some reno work. I know the head of the food department over there pretty well and finally got around to asking him what was up and he said they're getting beer!! He said he was in the process of hiring a beer lead. I told him I'd try to send him a candidate or two. Anyone from here want to apply? PLEASE!!! @randylangford - care to switch locations again and abandon another fanbase?

Haha...yeah, not sure my expectations for their selection are all that high...but I did tell the kitchen manager I was gonna keep him on his toes. He's a good dude. I hope he hires someone decent, but who knows....

I don't see much of anything that SS gets (bomber wise) there, unless it's "in the back". I remember seeing one of your posts that Java was "in the back", when I asked the girl at the counter, even saying in the back, she walked me around all of the displays, even the cooler, and said "I don't see it"

That's happened several times, even trying to gauge what they get and don't get compared to MDSS. Never once have I got "oh we had it" or "we didn't get it", it's always a response akin to asking someone in elementary school a calculus question.

 

A discussion we've had plenty of times. Unfortunately for us mega dweebs, most of the workers at the GE just don't know much of anything about beer. It's just a retail sales job akin to working at Target or something.

 

My wife is going to get jealous with all this ego stroking. If I leave Shadyside it'll only be for another job. Anyone know of a good place?

 

When they had the billion dollar Powerball, I had mentally convinced myself that I was going to win and I was going to open a bottle shop and hire you to run it. I don't think that really helps you out though.

 

Yeah, the people who actually face the customers in the beer section are clueless...I'm just talking about what the beer buyers get and put on shelves. And yeah, it's a shame, but they definitely do put things in the back. I will say though that despite this, they will undoubtedly rattle off the list of what is in the back and go get a bottle for ANYONE (and I mean anyone - there was a very old lady standing next to me when I got them to go get Java Cask for me...she asked me if it was supposed to be any good, I said yeah...and then she asked them to go get her a bottle and they did). They are legitimately just trying to limit to one per. And I know what the guys look like so I'll actually walk around and track one of them down to talk to them. All that said, I don't buy a lot of bombers even any more...I'm just talking mostly about overall selection and getting in newer selections, etc...
