I actually had to look it up and you were right about love child. I've only had #5 but if you told me when I drank it that it had any whiskey barrel in it I'd have called you a liar.

Heading to Pittsburgh Thursday evening. Looks like I'm staying very close to Voodoo and Brew Gentleman. Do they have any bottles or cans to take back with me or is it just growler fills?

Definitely BBVD in bombers. Also good vibes in 12oz.

    Edit: Bah, too slow.

Good Vibes isn't year-round? Does anyone actually like Hoodoo more than it?

Hoodoo is solid, but definitely enjoy good vibes a bit more

GV is year round, but intermittently released. So not as year round as Hoodoo. I don't have the research to properly answer the second part of that question.

Speaking of Good Vibes- Picked up a 4-pack from GESH yesterday, as it had been awhile since I've had it and I love fresh Good Vibes. I looked all over for some sort of bottling date, but failed to find anything. Took a risk on it, hoping it wasn't old. If I had to guess, I'd honestly guess this had been sitting around for almost 6 months, in pretty direct sunlight too FWIW. Can GE do anything for me here? The beer is pretty much a straight malty drain pour. Not trying to complain too much since I bought the beer willingly, but does GE do anything for beers that have clearly been sitting on the shelves for too long? I know GESH couldn't care less about freshness dates, but I'm also sure Voodoo wouldn't be too pleased to know they have a poor representation of their product on shelves currently.

Go and complain and they may refund but they may not. The beer lead should know how old it is. My stores Good Vibes is under a month old.

Actually, the most recent (bottles or case shells, I can't remember which) have been dated.

For sure no dates on bottles or case shell. Doesn't taste like it could be anywhere near something recently delivered.

Think GESH still has the old Troegs artwork bottles out on shelves.

Yeah, I saw a guy at GEMcM the other day buy a 6 pack of perpetual IPA with the old labels sitting right next to the new labels. I told him the other was a lot fresher but he said he liked the old labels, so I just gave him a thumbs up.

I thought it was common knowledge that the better looking a beer's label the better the beer. Isn't that why dark lord and variants are so popular?

Hey I'm going to Baltimore today for about a week. Anyone have any tips aside from Max's, Union, and trying not to die? Food suggestions also welcome (Shake Shack, Nando's Peri Peri, LP Steamers, and Alewife are all on the list).

    @DeutschesBier perhaps?

My tips are: 1) Max's, 2) Union, and 3) Try not to die.

Beer: I'm a big fan of Mahaffey's (great happy hour, garlic fries, sorta/kinda a "dive") and Hudson St. Stackhouse (Good draft list, not as packed as Max's). People love Of Love and Regret (Stillwater joint), but I haven't been yet.
    It's pricey.

Food: I'm on the Eastern Shore, so not in Baltimore enough to have a ton of food tips. Baba's Mediterranean is very good. Isabella's Brick Oven Pizza.

And just bang on that Shake Shack.
