i would say white chocolate (the beer) has nothing to do with white chocolate (the not chocolate), since the beer has cocoa in it, and the other just has cocoa butter. i think they just call it white chocolate because the base beer is their white oak sap. if you've never had it, you might as well buy one bottle.

I always thought White Chocolate the beer had white chocolate flavors, but it could have been my mind just telling me I was tasting those things because of the name. The mind can do crazy things with flavors.

I found regular White Chocolate the beer a bit too sweet for my tastes, but have hopes the coffee adds a bit of bitterness. I tend to find most stouts too sweet and really enjoy the addition of coffee to balance them out.

    Incorrect. http://www.thebruery.com/beer/white-chocolate/
"To compliment the already rich flavors of this beer, we’ve added cacao nibs and fresh vanilla beans to give this beer the delicate flavor of white chocolate…hence the name."

White Chocolate the beer tastes like white chocolate the candy to me.

I had a taster of White Mocha at Churchill's and didn't really like it. I'm going to give it another chance at the tasting room since I don't think my first try was under ideal conditions.

Does anyone know why they don't leave all the society beers on after SMM?

because they arent "released yet" in the tasting room. they were put on for SMM since its a private event. once they have their "release", then they go on for society or public or whatever they choose to do.

I'm gonna be visiting the taproom in a few weeks with a buddy. I only get to go once or twice a year and this is my first time as a RS member. If I decide to get a glass of MW and my buddy wants the same, will they let me do that? Are they strict on "only the member", or is there some flexibility as long as you're not abusing it? Also, I will be picking up my membership package when I'm there, do I need to get that first in order to get some of the good stuff on the menu, or is there a way they can look me up?

Grab your membership stuff as they will have your RS membership card. if MW is on the RS pours, go nuts. When I would go to the tasting room (and it wasn't limit 1 per) I would usually end up buying for my friends, girlfriend, and then a couple other non-members that wanted some. If it says "limit 1 per member" well, then your buddy may be SOL.

Ditto to what SDReaper said above. Also, MW wasn't 1 per this past weekend so you should be good. Hopefully White Mocha is also on for you when you are there. Honestly, I can only think of a couple of instances where a RS or HS beer was one per but I'm only there a few times a year so maybe it's more frequent. I recall BT Reserve being 1 per and I also recall BT being 1 per during the release this past October.

What was interesting is when BT Reserv was 1 per, I got mine. Went back up after I finished my flight and was denied a second one but my non-member buddy that was using me for access was able to secure a pour. Not sure if that is what that 1 per really meant, but meh...we both got pours and were both happy (me moreso because I didn't have to share my pour, hehehe).

White Mocha is not on according to the website. I hope they put it up so I know how many bottles I want.

Am I the only one still too scarred from my awful White Chocolate experiences to even consider buying bottles of it or any variants like White Mocha? Sure I'll try a taster in my flight next time I visit but that's the extent of my interest.

As for the tasting room - I always just open up a tab with my HS card for my entire party and they can go up and order whatever they want and put it on my tab. Always worked out just fine.

I'm a little apprehensive, but since they got a flash pasteurizer nobody has been complaining about the 2015 WC so I think we're good.

    Also, that's a brilliant idea.
