    Thought I had it down to 3, the most active here being @ONovoMexicano , but eliminated him. So unless I botched a hint somewhere, it's one of two fairly quiet users.

    I'm in the south-central Washington town I grew up in and will be getting a crowler for my target, maybe two. One will be an acclaimed central WA ipa, the other (pending seekabrew satisfaction) a sour from Oregon.

    I would certainly have interest, but I have a few concerns. One is that I've never traded before and would need to learn proper packaging to ensure the safety of the contents (though I'm sure there is a thread/post somewhere on here detailing that). Secondly, I'd be a little worried I couldn't get a great box together, seems like there are some pretty intimidating porch bombs! I wouldn't feel right sending anything less than an awesome box. (I live in western NY as opposed to NYC, so many NY "whales" are pretty much NYC and no where else)

    Your concerns are valid, but there isn't a better bunch of people to learn from, and with! Also, this BIF has a "new beer" for your target focus, which also is fun and helps to move your local favorites around and share with other BA's.

    Don't even sweat it, I'm just sending my recipient a bunch of crappy local shelf turds that have been left in my fridge months ago by frenemies. Really clears the crap and undrinkables out!

    I'm going to echo what @jhavs said. The basic point of this BIF is to encourage participation in the New Beer Sunday thread each week. We also want it to be approachable, and easy to get into. That's one of the reasons we keep the minimums so low. Also, when @LehighAce06 and I do the pairings, we try to keep shipping costs in mind. We tend to get clusters of folks in a few areas, which leads to more long distance shipping than we would prefer. Admittedly some of us go a bit overboard in both the quantity and quality of what we send, and who am I to discourage the giving away of beer?, but, especially for a new participant, sending tasty locals, that your target hasn't had before, should be easy enough. I'm sure you have access to beers that aren't available in Illinois, Florida, New Mexico, or Washington.

    Those of us out here on the west coast know, going in, that we're not really close to any one else (kemoarps and myself are Seattle-ish, and woemad is 300 miles east of us, and he's still a long way away from the nearest other participant), so we'll be shipping far.

    For #4, I'm going to try to encourage some participation from OR, CO, and some of the other "middle" states, so if you have a BA friend in those areas, please encourage them to think about joining. I truly encourage you to join #4. We've over 30 BA's in this one, and I want more next time. Let's make the whole pie bigger!
