I probably first heard rumblings a year ago? It's been a work-in-progress. No point in telling a lot of people because then it just leads to endless questions of "when will surly be here".

I'd say May/June feels right for Bell's. 1 brewery launch a month would be Avery, Surly, Bell's. Which would be a great run for Jbros. Funny how that happens after Chris leaves. Poor guy had to try to push Laughing Dog, Crazy Mountain, Lone Tree, etc.

I was being a little facetious earlier when I joked about the stack of Surly at Mall of the Bluffs Hy Vee, but just worry with all these new breweries that we end up getting a huge amount up front that ends up stagnating because another newer brewery comes around the next month. I know it's not that bad when you shop at Beertopia, but man, when you're out west and just trying to get some beer with groceries it can get frustrating.

Basically, I get why distributors are selling stuff in bulk but I would gladly trade off not being able to find certain stuff due to it being sold out if everything on the shelf was relatively fresh.

Expanding market or no I think old beer has always been a problem at grocery stores, Target, etc. With notable exceptions most are managed by people who aren't beer people and probably don't even give a second thought to date codes. Even more probably don't know you can even return out of code beer to their distributors.

It's easy to forget when most of your friends are craft drinkers, but we're still the minority of the beer buying market.

Obviously speculation at this point, but with Surly should Omaha see all the same as Iowa? Mainly Darkness, collabs, etc? Hoping so, cause then I will have little reason to cross the river except for TG bombers + other one off stuff we don't get, that I really want to try.

At first it will only be core brands like the roll out in IA, but it shouldn't be long before we get the same stuff they get across the river. This is what I was told by someone from Jbros.

TG is a special situtation. But when a brewery launches a market they bring all their full distro beer in due time (And TG will eventually once the new brewery is online). Otherwise why enter the market? If they don't have the beer, they don't add markets

Do we know what time Beertopia is getting their KBS allotment tomorrow?

Premier truck usually shows up between 11 and 1, but it's not guaranteed.

I picked up the last KBS 4 pack (they were holding it for me) at the 132nd and Dodge Hy-Vee this afternoon and paid $21.99 for the 4 pack. I heard they were selling them at the Midtown Brix for $24.95 and other various establishments as high as $27.99..

    Peace...

Heard there were lines for it at some of the HyVees, which is crazy to me because I've seen Sunday Morning Stout cases just sitting at some stores within the last month. Did a blind taste test last year and SMS won 3/4 of the votes.

Unrelated but excited to try the Kinkaider Frame the Butcher.

I've got 7 bottles of SMS left and I'll be doing a KBS 2016 vs SMS 2016 side by side at some point this weekend. I'll be very interested which I like better..and I really like SMS.. Hopefully I can speak coherently afterwards, lol..

    Peace...

I didn't like SMS as much this year. Thought it was coffee heavy and last year had a lot more booze/barrel. If I just want coffee I'll pick the cheaper FBS.
