This might actually be my favourite moment from this whole BIF.

I've never been big in the trading scene, but just spying what's going on these days often resembles hostage negotiations as opposed to trading.:astonished: Just not my thing, I'll stick to this forum to scratch my itch!

I hear ya J. I used to trade more frequently. For the last year or so, I've been pretty busy trusteeing for BA's with Bruery memberships. That keeps me pretty busy, and I get a few nice bonuses. Plus, I still get to throw extras in once in a while to surprise them, and that's always fun. But these BIF's are the best.

I pretty much limit trades to in person these days. I'm really enjoying my first BIF and will be having fun with more in the future.

Dear Lord!!! What happened to my house?!?
Well, the destruction is complete. Now I know why the uniformed folks that had secured the area around my house pulled back.
Crushed. The first salvo was terrible. The second salvo was Old Testament in its fury. The heavens rained fire (and fermentation) upon my placid life here in sunny So Cal. All is gone...

    Yet there is hope.
I believe from hardship and struggle, I shall rise.
    I DO believe in hope.
    And I get up
    I dust myself off.
    I SHALL RISE....many a glass.
And I will cry out, " @Ozzylizard In YOUR NAME I drink!
You Sir, are a giant among BA's!"

Okay, I'm getting serious about packing up my box. I'm heading up the hill to grab the last couple "ingredients" momentarily. Then it's packing time. I'm going to try to get everything into one box. If I'm satisfied it will survive the trip, I'll be visiting FedEX to weigh the damn thing and see what the cost will be. My car is doing something ominous, so I'm a little gunshy about spending money, so I'm giving myself the out that if it's gonna be super-expensive, I'll break it down into two boxes, and ship the second one after my next pay day. I'd rather not do that, but it would probably wind up being in @newjack's favor, as I keep finding and thinking of more stuff to throw in (plus I just made the mistake of looking at the local Growler Guy's website), so he'll probably end up with even more of the current amount of beer, which now stands at a total of 226.08oz.

Amen. The trading forum is more like the stock market with people treating beers as commodities instead of liquid happiness. This is why the BIF and WBAYDN crowds are so great. Everyone has the same mentality. I was always up front with all of my earlier trade partners about where I stood. I have no problem asking, or being asked for something specific (which is rare both ways), but make no mistake about it, the value of the beer is what it cost me (usually less, who the hell keeps track of gas and milage:slight_smile:). My idea of "winning" is giving away more beer than I get (which is tough with you assholes) and trying to never send a beer my recipient won't love. highbrow saw me whinning about our ABV cap and WooT one day and sent me a 3 year vertical and a Vanilla Rye BC. That is what this site, this "craft", and this life is all about. Excuse me while I put my soapbox back into storage. :grinning:

Again, I must chime in. Corey is another, most generous and thoughtful, solid BA. You Sir, obviously enjoy the "giving" more than the getting.

I likes to drink 'em too, but I am getting too old to keep up with these non-High Life ABVs:stuck_out_tongue:

Okay, gots what I needed (and another 12oz can besides), am now finishing the last of the morning's coffee and gnawing on a late breakfast. Between experimental packing exercises, operation: clear fridge is still ongoing. Also thinking of staging a photo of all @newjack's haul, with the bottles and swag turned to hide their identity. Not sure what I'll do about the cans, though, with their wrap-around labeling clues.

    What will be shipping.
Note: Brain Salad Surgery, GTO model kit and turntable under t-shirt not included.

Edit: Oh, and we're now up to 250.08oz.
