Well, it is that melancholy time time when the the majority of beer has been, and shipped. Most folks have guessed their senders, so no sense in posting more hints. However, since @smanson56 is gifting a box of beer for best box, perhaps people could start explaining why their nominee should other peoples votes.

Sipping a little something while I fill the first box with NY goodness. Is this pic a hint for my target, I mean, it's not a NY beer? Hmmm...

Damn, this is a tasty beer.

Wish I could say I was sipping on a beer while doing it, but I am packing up another 176 oz. of southern brews, the vast majority based here in Charlotte, for @WesMantooth . Ships out today.

    Haha another 176 oz.'s. :grinning:

This group has got to be the most generous assembly of fine beer fanatics/geeks anyone could hope to join up with, and it is my absolute pleasure to be a part of this with y'all.

Someone mentioned this a page or two back, but at this point I pretty much only trade locals for locals, and then jump into BIFs when I feel like I've built up a good supply to trade. I'll probably never try a Toppling Goliath or Cycle beer, and zero sleep is lost knowing that fact.

    (emphasis mine)

Pretty much my thoughts too, except I'm a chronic worrier, so I don't even really do local for local trades (packing and dropping off at FedEx/etc still stresses me out), but man I love BIFs, these NBS ones especially because that seems to be the pervading mentality: I've got some stuff near me my target will probably never get and would probably enjoy. Let's correct that first point! I prefer to have some obscure local release that someone custom selected for me anyway.
I've got enough incredible brews around these parts anyway (err... I mean... Washington has no exciting beers! Nothing to see here! Move along! STOP CRASHING THE HOLY MOUNTAIN RELEASES!)
Hell, and at this rate, if I do enough of these, I won't need to worry about trading for the uberwhale.rarz anyway. Shit, we saw a Rare in here already!

Anyway, I guess all I'm really trying to say is: right on right on right on... keep on doing you all you beautiful souls. This semi-annual tradition encourages my optimistic views on humanity and reminds me how much fun it can all be. Thanks.

Gee, I've never tried (insert obscure, yet hyped, local beer here), and probably never will.:slight_frown:

Yeah, I forgot to mention, I've never had KBBS, and probably never will. It gnaws at my soul everyday. Oh well...

Tasted Assassin one of the early batches and it was great but didn't change my life. I won't give what it would take to get KBBS, hard to believe anyone would, but this also bothers me not at all.

Yeah, I think that's my mindset too. I have no doubt it's good - it's not pure hype at this point - but after so many BBA stouts, I definitely find diminishing returns.

On a completely unrelated note, I feel like we need to get more people from the middle of the country in the next round. Like Iowa, and Iowa...

And southern Indiana. I'm gonna try twisting @Bitterbill 's arm a bit, maybe get some Wyoming into the mix. And, how about some ND/SD BA's? They've gotta exist, right?

    Whoa!

Well, if I'm right, you'll get a 22oz reprieve from the total amount of ounces I said were underway, so perhaps your porch will survive the impact.

I'm actually looking forward to taking a couple more weeks and doing up the second box properly, as it seems like more stuff that would be appropriate is coming out of the wood work, plus I've got some more swag ideas (in addition to a couple minor pieces that didn't make it in the first box). 46.68oz are already on hand and undergoing intensive training for their D-Day.
