New to Ohio (2016)

Some weird Brazilian sour beers made there way to OH. "Way Beer" brewing.

New to me, maybe OH: DFH Squall IPA, ST 3 Citrus Peel Out, SN Summerfest (no longer Czech Pils, but "Crisp Lager"), Weihenstephanner 1516, Abita Spiced Ale, Tool You Shall Nut Pass, Clown Shoes Luchador En Fuego (BA Imperial Stout).

 

Saw at Heinen's in Avon yesterday as well as some bottle shops getting it end of last week as well.

 

Market District in Strongsville had/has an entire end-cap of regular Rhinegeist brews a few days ago. Mostly cans and a bomber IPA I'd never heard of.

 

Did I miss earlier in this thread if we can expect to see this in Cincy? Or is it going to be a Columbus only Columbus/Cle thing. It really stinks how I only see CBC stuff down here a couple times a year.

 

Not 100% sure but I think that Columbus and northern Ohio are the primary focus, before eventually adding Cincinnati. I think it's a safe bet that you guys will see it before someplace like, I don't know, Maine?

 

I know. It sucks. They are my favorite IPA lineup out of anyone and I only go to Columbus a handful of times a year. I'm itching to have them down here. I always get Bodhi and CBC IPA when I go up there, and most of the time some Columbus Pale Ale too.

 

Honestly I can hold out on the Bodhi bottles. I just want the beer garden and tap room to be open.

 

Haha, excellent. If it weren't for Cappy's, I still would not have tried HH beers. Babies and work restrict beer related trips, and don't see myself trading in-state for hops.

Total bummer. I have only had Bodhi a few times and it is among my favorite DIPAs. It really stinks when I see my friends from northern Ohio checking in beers on Untappd. No love for Cincy in cbus i guess.

 

I have been out of the loop on it, what's the status on Columbus actually having a taproom?

The One Hitter stuff has all been very late and sporadicly available/unavailable around me.

 

Oh, ok. I guess they received it earlier in the week than I thought. I was too late to get any when I tried last Friday though.

 

My god...four packs of Sohio? Is this real life?

 

For the first time, I actually feel like Bardhie bottles are going to be a real thing!

 

The picture makes it seem so real! I believe the most recent comment from Tony I've seen on FB is hopefully July. That's only a few months away! I'd say it would be the perfect summer beer, but it's the perfect anytime beer.

Anyway, is anyone looking to try out the Frogquistador this weekend while Brad comes to Akron to spin some vinyl?

 

Guy at GE Strongsville told me that Rhinegeist self distributes. And that they made a trip to Cleveland and hit a handful of stores. A one time deal. Just saying what I was told. Not sure if this is the case. But I haven't seen their stuff except the GE in Strongsville. I'm guessing it made it around to handful of other stores as well. I don't go into every store in town.
