What beer are you drinking now? (Canada)

when it was released, there were 2 bottling dates (Feb and Mar). Some stores got both batches. I had my last two bottles over the weekend and unfortunately you can tell they are fading. This is even more evident after trying two fresh DIPA/IPA (Unfiltered's Front Line Rocker / Moralite) beforehand. The hops are no longer there.

 

From the weekend. Ontario is just better at hoppy beers.

 

It is getting better at breakneck speed but regardless, if you mean that in comparison to Quebec, it isn't exactly the stiffest competition

I agree that Quebec still has a ways to go, but the improvement in just the last two years has been staggering.

 

Block 3 - Through the Quad and into the Barrel.
Enjoying this one with the door open in celebration of the glorious 20+ weather we are having here. Not sure if the weather is effecting my judgement but this is one fine quad. Subtle barrel notes, balanced acidity, smooth mouth feel, light body and not to syrupy. Cherry tones. Hides it's 10% well.

Absolutely. Honestly, even the last 8-10 months. It's insane. I'm getting to the point where I can het random hoppy beers without hesitating and not be disappointed. Great time to be a beer lover in Quebec.

 

I hope you all don't mind if I drop by and hijack your thread from time to time. I excuse myself on the basis that I at least live in an abutting state and that I'm drinking Canadian beer.

I have to say that I enjoyed this one much more on the second go-round when I wasn't thinking so hard about it and picking it apart to write a review. Some simple pleasures should remain simple.

And why is it that Canadian beer labelling seems to coordinate so much better with my table linens than American beer labelling?

It needs 10 actual reviews to make the list, but I think the ratings are counted in the average?

 

I thought Hérétique was the least enjoyable beer from the Dernière Volonté box, but I'm not exactly Mr. Brett.

 

Same. I try to keep that in perspective when rating beers however, so not to give an unjustifiable rating.
