What beer are you drinking now? #1292

I attended Kent State in '67. Didn't graduate. Drafted at Christmas in '68. Was overseas when this happened. We were in shock. The lifers said they had it coming. The rest of us strongly disagreed. That day changed me, as well. Things haven't changed all that much since. Maybe one day. Imagine.

 

Today is almost better than yesterday - my birthday. Helping my son with his new Star Wars Legos on Star Wars Day.

Just opened a Trillium Heavy Mettle. This was bottled yesterday. My god, I can smell the mosaic hops from feet away. Huge hop punch. This beer is phenomenal. May have jumped into my top 10 DIPAs.

A Liefmans Kriek Brut. I'm not an expert in this field but this tastes just real good, like the taste in good quality.

In the Netherlands it's our yearly remembrance day for the fallen in the Second World War. At eight tonight the country was in silence for two minutes. We also remember our friends from Britain, America, Poland and Canada. Fascinating part of history.

To all of you on BA with grandparents (or maybe parents) who served in those days, just to let you know that their sacrifices are not forgotten.

After a few hours yard work (interrupted by a can of Good People Bearded Lady), I just finished a bottle of Sierra Nevada Otra Vez. I apologize for not being able to remember (or find) the names of 2 members for replying to my request for names of gose beers that were not too salty. This 1st recommendation is very good. I'll try the others as soon as possible. Again, thanks

A change up from my usual styles (something I'm trying to do more often these days) today we have Bitburger German Pils. As much as it wasnt my personal favorite flavor combo in a german pils, it was definitely well executed and they created a nice summertime "Terrasse" beer. 3.54/5 Cheers!
