Let the brewery know. I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

This is the first time we've heard this. Cans are coming from the same production batches as draft, and we've sent over one thousand kegs out with no reports of butter. We have a full scale lab run by a PhD so a whole batch with diacetyl would not slip by her. This makes me think it could be some canning inconsistencies? We have only been canning for a month and have been happy with it but will continue to dial it in. If you have more issues with this PM me and I'll try to meet up with you and replace the cans. Don't be skerred...

Yeah cans from the same six pack were different, one buttery, one not. Last night the first 2x4 I opened tasted like garlic butter, but the next tasted perfect. Strange.

Just an FYI, Powder Keg has Brosaic on tap right now. Really enjoyed it. Super crushable. Definitely reminded me of Lizard King with the strong Mosaic character.

I, personally think, that their Drunken Master DIPA is a sleeper.

Okay, so I feel like a fool if I missed this. However I have a question.

I believe we should be getting Melvin on a somewhat regular basis (thanks Melvin!). Last I saw, there was the 3/23-3/24 canning and then I THINK I saw a 3/30 canning as well?

But since then, have there been any drops of more recent/fresher stuff? I swear I got some 2x4 that said 3/30 on the holder... I could be mistaken.

Just wondering if they are planning regular drops, and when those might be, and what they might consist of. I bought all the Melvins and sent them all over the place, getting ready to unleash another Melvin bomb when I get myself some freshies.

Hubert canned 4/21, IPA on 4/22 and 2x4 on 4/25 are the freshest I have seen at this time.

Pretty sure fresher stuff is coming this week?

@Dan_K I'll +1 this late April Canning date. I picked up some of those cans before I went to DLD. That's the latest I've seen but I also haven't checked Melvin cans at the store since then so I don't know what's around now.

We recently did a collaboration with Yakima Chief Hopunion called The (Hop) Shocker, using a new lupulin powder technology they're developing. A small amount of kegs will be seeing Colorado distribution, and we have an event at Freshcraft featuring it next Friday 5/20. I highly recommend checking it out...8% DIPA w/ Simcoe & Mosaic pow-pow!

Chicago BA here... Was sent a can of Melvin, Hubert, and 2x4. All were great and impressive within my zombie dust and ninja vs unicorn rotation.

Keep it up Melvin! Hoping to visit on my next westward road trip.

I just had 1 week old Zombie Dust bottles from my recent visit to South Bend, Indiana. I don't think one is better than the other as they are super different beers....in my opinion. What I get from Hubert is tons of melon, while zombie dust is more of the bitter orange citrus and insane nose from the massive amount of dry-hopping.

They are both in my top favorite hoppy beers, but still different from one another that neither is better/worse.

I am not getting any butter. But I picked up Melvin in cans for the first time in Denver (I did have Shoalin on tap months ago!). The canning date was 3 weeks old. My first Hubert (3 days ago) blew me away! Was up there with zombie dust, which I think taste pretty similar as I get big bright citrus from both. But I just had one tonight and it tasted a little stale, like the hops dropped off. Could this mean that this particular can - oxidized prematurely from a faulty seal? This could all be in my head, but it seemed really noticeable. My palate was fresh both times. Strange indeed. On another note my one 2x4 also was outstanding. I am VERY impressed with what Melvin is doing, but I agree there seems to be some canning "quirks" early on. I am confident that it will be dialed in, if there really is minor issues, since they seem so committed to making great beer.

Ruckus Imp stout hitting distro soon. We also have a limited amount of Ruckus in barrels!! The barrel aged will all be hand bottled for that perfect occasion.

Sounds great. Am I to assume that the BA version will be available at select accounts some 8-10 months after it's had it's barrel time?
