Haven't seen anyone post one of these up here yet. My brother landed his first big boy job today so I decided to celebrate and split a bottle with him. It also doesn't hurt that by taking the job he landed me a $500 referral bonus

Sam Smith's Organic Best Ale for me tonight. I like this stuff a lot. Good malt flavor, a kiss of hops, a nice apple-like fruitiness, and a touch of diacetyl.

Keeping with things, I raise you both:

Is it true that the Brux needs a while to become truly "wild" tasting? I've been holding off on buying a bottle because of this and I'd like some confirmation.

Definitely an old neck. That's just a "regular" bomber of the old days. The new necks look as such:

I went to the Science of Beer at the Museum of Life & Science in Durham. The clear winner was Mother Earth Tripel Overhead (BA Tripel), Foothills Oktoberfest, and Carolina Nut Brown.

Went to an Alumni Association event for my university which included a free drink ticket, and ended up having Coast HopArt, Bear Republic Racer 5, and Westbrook Covert Hops. Now at home, grading exams and enjoying a Sierra Nevada Stout:

That went much more smoothly than the last time I told someone that their Panzer Wolf was from February.

Damn. SMH. What a letdown. Well at least I have some Zombie Dust from the trade I know is fresh. Time to get rid of this nasty taste.
