A new porter for me to try while I watch some Olympics and wait for Vesey to make up his damn mind to stay home.

 

Terrapin Hi-10 Mango Habanero DIPA (Side Project X)... I enjoyed Flying Dog's take on this way more, I should say. Still good. But not really spectacular.

Gotta go with a closer + 1 today. I just finished the Nightwish concert I posted earlier and


as much as Floor brings it, she falls short on the group's 2 mega hits. Both were written and keyed for the leads at the time and they totally owned them. Floor will have her own megas, but Tarja owns Sleeping Sun with her operatic voice...



Then there is Anette Olzen, the best of the 3 IMHO. Tarja and Floor can't touch her high end notes. Amaranth...nothing else need be said.

 

I overdid it on Monday night. I only had 1 beer on Tuesday due to a angry stomach. I passed up the Bells brewpub at the airport and only had one at The Publican at O'Hare. I did not even post it so here it was:

Kicking off my last night of good beer before a two week involuntary trip to Ireland...The rare new beer (in bottles anyway) from Russian River...



I don't care what the kids are saying these days...this is still the best example of Clapton pretending to be Elmore James on a Howling Wolf track...

 

Using this brew from my home city (and borough as well) to quench my thirst after an hour at the pool!
