I think BA's will form a circle around PMR and Bruer Joel to prevent any such lynching.

This is purely for selfish reasons. Cutting off our supply of beer from The Bruery is simply unacceptable

I hate distract from the Costco discussion with a non sequiter, but I just opened my last bottle of 2014 Blue BBLs. This beer is another home run by The Bruery. Blueberry is still strong in the nose and flavor, combined with leather and oak. Wonderful beer that is still tasting great.

    Now back to Costco.

Costco needs to open a location here so I can also bitch about them selling beers below cost. Plus sometimes they have Lagavulin priced at a steal. Those rotten bastards...

Gas and hotdogs.... (once they sell diesel fuel I would be all over it, but for now, couple hot dogs or a slice of pizza before I hit up Bitter Brothers Brewing)

Costco isn't trying to stay in business selling beer. I don't know the laws between CA and PA but in PA, the bottle shops charge higher, grocery stores cheaper, brewery is the middle.

    Dyslexia is a real thing

Also, if you bought three at membership price and bought 3 more at costco price, your overall total price is still less than membership price, so you would still be in the plus.

Costco sells diesel in select locations, like Temecula :grinning:

...damnit. Sadly neither the morena nor carmel mountain locations sell it. I'll just have to continue only going there for hotdogs and the 1400 rolls of toilet paper bargain bulk buy. =P

I had kind of mixed feelings - the Bruery nailed the rocky road flavor and I enjoyed the beer a lot, but on the other hand I don't think I'd want it that often. It may be one of those beers better shared where everybody gets 4 oz or so.

Why's that? Is it the sweetness, richness, flavor profile in general, etc?

I just think it's funny that the guy who paid less than what it even costs to be a Reserve Society member to split a Hoarders membership 3 ways and get an even better discount is completely indignant about a retailer pricing an item at closeout.

Give people a product, and no matter how good it is they'll find something to complain about.

Mainly the sweetness and dessert quality of the beer. It kind of surprised me since I don't feel that way about CR or the Days of the Week beers.

Is it approaching Dark Lord or A Deal With The Devil levels of sweetness?

Well damn. Mash & Vanilla and Melange #14 just hit GA distro. Happy to buy more, but I wouldn't have thought they'd make it here. I guess double the capacity helps production.

Not surprising, I haven't had M15 yet but find that the roasty characteristics of a stout can often keep sweetness in check where the barleywines, old ales, strong ales, ect can just get out of control with the sugary sweetness when they get so high in abv and loaded with adjuncts.

It would be nice if the Bruery clearly outlined what is going to make it to distribution. I was under the impression that "Society Release" was just for the societies. Otherwise, I would rather buy local. The 20% discount doesn't really help when shipping costs are added.

Were they marked as society releases? I Honestly have no idea.

That being said, I'm pretty sure it says somewhere that they reserve the right to do what they want with the beer...basically if they made too much they will get rid of it no matter how they can. (at least I'm 90% sure that is in the T&C of the membership)
