saturday afternoon prons... finally got some downtime to open up the unexpected boxes that landed at my door last week.. since i wasn't around for the Newbies Anniversary VBSing.. i'll start with cracking a good bottle while i open deez boxes... #VBS = via @beluga92 from a BIF event earlier in the year.. Lawson's Maple BA Fayston Maple Imperial Stout!!! ..and a suitably awesome vessel to boot... ...AAAND a ninja'd box from @beluga92, too! seemingly all mysterybrews that i'll eventually be able to get to. ..and since i missed 8/27, i'll aim for crackin this at 8:27pm today (which would be a wk belated, but festive to some degree). Thanks, Stephen!!! you've been droppin some awesome bottles on me throughout the year, and i can't wait to jump into these -- super excited! you the real mvp. Box #2 from an unfamiliar name, @JasonR1975 from Michigan!!! totally unexpected, but i am admittedly yet another victim to The Locals attack on the Newbies. ..Respeck. Thanks, a ton dude!! And a shout out to all the Locals' generosity! New Glarus - Serendipity... those NG fruits are always welcome in here. Boxes everywhere. I was the unexpected recipient of a forwarded lif box from @Homebrew . @pnelting heard wrong when he heard I didn't have any beer. I'm not complaining though because ne hops is probably my favorite style of beer, and Dave really hooked it up! Unwrapping this box was quite the experience, like a clown car. Look how small the box is! Popped a boom sauce in honor of Michigan lowering the boom in Hawaii.
I won a LIF from @SRBush1974 in July, so it's time to pay it forward. I am leaving for Ireland next Friday for 1 week. How many beers will I consume during my trip? Yesterday night I opened up a box and found some red cushions inside! Still need to find a sharpie so I can sign these but for now, the beer. @Eziel managed to hit a ton of wants and new breweries. This is awesome, thank you! Family shot including the ginger chews. Cigar city Caffe Americano a want! And holy damn white oak Jai Alai a major want! JO Pale Ale and Woodburner! I loved Oro negro and can't wait to try more from JO! Husband is especially excited for the Wood burner also a want. Mexican cake!! Major want! Prairie Bomb! Now I have a set of 4 variants, will do a side by side comparison this weekend. Clown shoes Bluegrass Billionaire looks good, bourbon yum! Never had any funky Buddha before, this is awesome. Both are wants! I kind of want to cook up some French toast to go with the beer. New Ohio Hops! The Rhinegeist looks perfect, this matches my new glass and shirt from @KyleDavis I already drank this one. I was a little biased with the sharing ;-) Thanks @Eziel this selection of beer is really incredible!! I'm so excited to put my name on the cushions, I'll take a pic and start the next round of sign ups soon.
