Seemingly somewhat similar games for my wildcats (last night vs Stanford), and your sooners. Defenses both looked good, but the offenses looked anemic. I'm sure Synder and Stoops will get them sorted out, looking forward to some good battles in the Big 12 this year.
Cheers and enjoy the other games and brews today!

Brewed a smoky brown ale earlier today, the brewday went well without any major problems. I've got the process down by now but it's still a great feeling turning malted grains into a fermentable liquid. Now I'm having one of the last couple of bottles of my last homebrew, a Vienna malt/Hallertau Mittelfrüh smash beer (top fermented). I quite like it, it has a distinct flavor from the Vienna malt which I can only describe as bready, with a good bitterness and some mild hop flavors from the Mittelfrüh.

Almost kickoff! This is my last Hop, Drop Roll. Thankfully, I have two kids living in North Carolina who can get me more. Cheers to the first weekend of college football!

The charcoal is lit. On to new beer #2. Wolters Pils, from Germany. Not bad, but nothing great. Perfect deck beer when you're running around prepping food. Whatever that means

Well, it was a nice morning so we went to breakfast and did some errands, made sure we have the basics just in case.

Started watching the Badgers game expecting the worst and....OK up 6 at the half, but I await the fall of the hammer.

Went outside to storm prep. Basically looking around the yard while finishing off the last of the SN Nooner from last weekend. You know, it is an OK beer but it needs the event, I think. Today...honestly can't say this is a beer I would just buy to drink without a cookout or something to go with it...

18th Street Overlord's Revenge DIPA at Brewfest in Highland. A sweet little bar with twenty self serve taps. I love the concept of paying by the ounce. A great way to sample without committing to a large pour or getting too hammered.

    Playing here now.....

I guess it's gonna be a Primus themed WBAYDN for me today. Short's Goodnight Bodacious, black IPA. Bought this back in February, had it in my "cellar" (closet in the basement). Still amazing to drink. Some hoppy aromas, mostly floral, are hanging around, but the taste is smooth and creamy mocha.
Sweet BBQ chicken and ranch potatoes on the grill.

EDIT: Forgot, this is an imperial black IPA. It's got me freaking buzzed.

There is a 99% chance that I'll have half of them to choose from. I'm just trying to decide which one or two I'll use on NBS at this point.
