note to self, dont ever ask @ThreeFishes for a bootle when all he asks for a label. the asked for bootle, king sue, is not pictured below since i got drunk, put them on the counter to take a pic, but "forgot" to take said pic and then disposed of the bootle. the extras are below. thanks jim!

 

and then about a month or two ago, @blue-dream says he would send me a regal, which was one of my top wants, since i hadnt tried it, and then proceeds to blow up my shit with delicious hops and a berliner. i honestly love vallejo, and daisy cutter doesnt come around here fresh much. ill probably crack the pipeworks tomorrow. thanks justin!

Holy flip-flops Zach killed me with two more boxes today. After taking the family to the Great New York State Fair and then working Fire Marshall at the Syracuse football game, I came home to this. I had my daughter empty the boxes and take photos. Already trying my first one. Love to try beers I've never had I'm overwhelmed. Thanks Zach for everything.

On day 3 of 11 days off in a row...amazing.

Went to a ranch near Athens. Drank at Jackie os and picked up some beers to bring home. Went horse back riding and hiking. Got dru k at my fantasy football draft last night only for my friend to open a scoop at the end of the night. Today I was on call but didn't get called in so it's true freedom for another week.

Gonna drink local and enjoy not having to work for a while! Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend!!!

 

visited a newerish local brewery today. had some beers that were above average to good. pretty nice beer garden too.

 

TLDR

 

Which one?
We had lunch yesterday at Bube's in their beer garden. Food was very good, beer decent, they only had 2 of theirs on tap. Got to go down and check out the catacombs this time, they were setting up for a candle light wedding. Very cool.
Then went to a winery about 10 minutes away (where there was also a wedding) and thanks to recently changed PA laws, I was able to buy a beer while the ladies sampled wine--Funk Citrus.
Stopped at Stoudt's for a couple on the way home and then went to a Hurricane Party in the neighborhood.
I'm a bit fuzzy this morning.

 

sounds like you had a great day. i thought bubes was one of the most interesting breweries ive ever visited.

we went to stable 12. the bar portion of the brewery is separate from the beer garden, and you cant do directly from one to the other without going outside, so you cant take a beer (it has to be served). other than that, both parts were pretty good.

 

We actually considered stopping there on the way back yesterday. It's still on my list when I get a free Saturday one of these weekends.

 

had to share a couple beers i consumed today.

this sour dry hopped saison, planet of dreamers, from @Mipper, it fucking awesome. gorgeous looking beer. you guys should all seek out. thanks eric!

sidenote: a few hours later, the wind blew this umbrella/table over and the glass piece shattered into about a million pieces. given that i have 2 little girls and could not afford having any stray shards, the cleanup was super fun.

then poured myself a stout to break in the new glass. love this stem.
