Really? So if I ask my wife to grab me some Grimm (or any beer) because I'm stuck at work or traveling for work or something else, that's pathetic? Or are you just talking about people who send their SOs to get extra beer for them?

Also, I love how you assume that because they were women they were picking up for their SOs. Unless they said that, this seems to be a rather sexist, for lack of a better word, assumption. And even if they were tipped off by their boyfriends, what makes you assume they won't also be drinking the beer? My wife, for one, loves Grimm IPAs as much or more than I do, yet she doesn't closely follow releases like I do, but gladly relies on my tips for when the beer might be hitting stores.

So I'm interested in what makes people favor Pulse Wave over Lambo door. I know there was a lot of hype around Lambo after that Paste article, but I honestly cant remember Pulse Wave. I'm excited to try them side by side now!

Isn't Pulse Wave just a single hop simcoe IPA this time around?

I don't disagree with you, but what if you don't have a SO. Is it ok to send your mom? Grandma? How about a homeless guy you meet on the street? Truck chasers gonna chase.

frankly unless you're going and buying a single can of each beer, in person, nobody is in a position to judge - me included.

but that's why i always think discussing what place currently has a beer in stock on these threads is a bad idea - because yes you may be helping out a BA, but you're also just shining a light for the people with too much time / postmate account and no scruples / a few spare grannies hanging around etc

Not gonna lie, I've sent my mom to pick up beer. Well not really sent, but she was at Whole Foods when I got a notification, so why wouldn't I? How is it any different from asking someone to bring home some milk?

Has no one ever bought you beer? Every single beer you have ever drank you purchased? You dont have friends that go to releases that pick up beer for you?

Before I consumed IPA's I'd gladly pickup extra for my friends who did drink them, and still do sometimes with sours. But then again, if it rained beer I'm sure someone would get pissed off at the first sight of someone collecting more than they could in their mouths.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯. What will be sad if these dudes make their friends/wives/girlfriend whatever go back tomorrow for Splish.

I'm buying for my in-laws as much as I am my wife and I. They're closer to can releases at Trillium and Tree House while we hit up the NYC area breweries. We then get together and share and drink and eat. Good times.

My GF works literally next door to Noble Grains. I'm not not going to ask her to pick me up a can when they get it in lol. It's not like I'm asking her to bring her co workers. Wow I should ask her to bring her conworkers (kidding please don't yell at me).

Hope everyone enjoys these Grimm releases, which I am sadly missing. I'm especially interested to hear how Splish is, and hopefully they release it again in the future when I'm actually in NYC. It looks like it has the potential to be great.

I for one will continue to post where I find the good stuff. If you're hoarding/chasing, god speed (it ain't easy). On that note, nothing at Beer Culture as of this afternoon, hearing tomorrow's the day.

I feel like the bigger question is how many cans are too many to be hoarding regardless of who's buying them for you or if you're redistributing them to your friends? I know I've seen cans at places a day or two I've bought, and knowing how limited it is figured I've got enough.

It just seems lousy to be loading up as much as some people see to.

They got two sixtels, tapped one, and saved the other for a special event.
Maybe you should talk to the owners about the price of their beer, I have. They might go out of business once their rent doubles next year because of the subway stop being created on 2nd ave. If you can find a way to bring down the cost of real estate in NYC then please provide some constructive advice. I, and I'm sure they, would love your expert advice.

The correct answer of how many is ok for a beer that's going to sell out in a few hours, where every beer nerd in the area is gagging to try, is one can. Anything more and you're (like I do) justifying that what you're doing is ok, but the guy who's buying one can more than you is a douche.

What if you're really heavy, like a big dude for whom 16oz is really like me drinking 8oz; should you get double allotment then?

Yeah I guess, but at same time if a bar/shop is offering 4-packs I'm pretty sure no one is asking for only one because it's only fair.
