Good evening BA, happy Friday! Hope everyone had a smooth end of the work week. I definitely did. Next week is a dissected work week with election day and Veterans day in the same week.

    Daily Reviews:

This was very good. Nice head retention and lacing down the glass. Flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, and light nutty/coffee/toffee maltiness; with some herbal/light peppery hops. Aromas are much of the same, but muted. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; moderately creamy/grainy with some light sticky/chalky roast notes in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering hop oil; gets near a resin sort of quality, but not astringent. Overall very enjoyable, but a touch too bitter by the end of the glass. Initial perceived bitterness is quite low, but the oils linger from the sizable 53 IBU for the style. The actual flavor hops felt quite low, to not overwhelm the vanilla. More dark/crystal vs roast malt oriented for an American Porter. Balanced vanilla notes that aren't overwhelming. 3.78

Delicious Oktoberfest IPA:wink:! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, papaya, mango, melon, orange peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/toffee malts; with herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced bready creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel; touch of resin at the end of the glass. Increasingly drying, but never too bitter or astringent. Feels pretty clean on lagering, not that it would matter with all the fruity hops. This was all around great for me. It had a pretty standard expectation Lagunitas hop profile. I think they pulled this off far better than Deschutes Hopzeit. This tastes really juicy on hops, with a nicely complex Munich malt backing. Never too bitter or sweet. Going to grab more soon for sure. 4

This is a Rum BA Imperial stout with smoked black peppercorns. Blackbeard's Bliss. This was outstanding! Quite big on the rum barrel presence. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, rum, vanilla, toffee, toasted oak, peppercorn, brown sugar, and dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, molasses, and raisin fruitiness. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and rum/oak/peppercorn spice on the finish. Fullish bodied; nicely creamy/silky in the mouthfeel with some sticky/chalky roasted balance; a bit slick. Some light increasing dryness from barrel and roast/char bitterness; never astringent. Fairly warming; with a bit of rum barrel booze, but not overwhelming. The peppercorns fit in pretty much perfectly with the tannic/spicy rum barrel character; never felt out of place. This was a very smooth sipper with a lot of great stout complexity. Very similar profile to many of their other well renowned stouts. Very well balanced and not overly acrid or roasty. Loved it. 4.2

Haha...They are only a year old. I bought them last November. I got myself back in shape after 2 heart attacks and CHF in these shoes. I have a hard time throwing them out so I use them for jumping rope now.

I can't speak for the BoSox victory but it is very selfless around here. I haven't heard the Cardinals mentioned once...until I just did so. Anyway, everyone is just genuinely happy, proud, but in no way aggressive. It's been fantastic since Wednesday. It'll go back to normal but I don't think that overall attitude will sour.

Tie 'em together and toss 'em over the power lines in front of the crib. Everytime you walk out the front door it's a reminder of what you've come back from.

I forgot to mention that a Cubs championship would never had happened with out Chapman's experience as a Yankee.

What up, y'all? I just finished some tasting notes on a can of Burlington Beer Co.'s You Can't Get There From Here: Prickly Pear & Pink Guava, which is absolutely delicious.

It's not the most complex or sophisticated sour beer ever—not by a long shot—but here's the thing: I fell in love with fresh guava, guava juice, and guava paste when I first traveled to Brazil in 2006. As a result, the aroma alone on this beer brings up such crazily positive associations that I love, love, love this beer. And having had it straight from the can and from a proper glass, I will say that this is a beer that drastically benefits from good glassware. Sigh . . .

This, plus an episode of The Adventure Zone (a really, really goofy and funny D&D podcast from the McElroy brothers and Maximum Fun) pretty much are my night. Can't complain :-) Saude, galera!

Next to my old Jordans? No way! If I was 58 instead of 38 I would be throwing a walker up there.

My favorite low ABV (i.e., anything under 8%) paired with one of my favorite sitcoms. Musical selection back at @jzeilinger.

Don't know about that, but the Yankee's got his ass out of some serious shit, only a 30 day suspension.

    Cheers!

Moving onto something a little beefier while I listen to something a little lighter. I'm all about life balance.

That hair raising tie would have never happened, you mean. I thank the Mariners for Mike Montgomery and his Game 7 save. Also, you're welcome for Starlin.

That was a league rule with the 30 days. The girl dropped the charges but the suspension is mandatory for any charge.
