    Couple beers while I studied.

First up was Paradisi Grapefruit IPA from Orono Brewing Company. Better then Grapefruit Sculpin IMO.

And now Voodoo Porter by Black Bear Brewing

    Cheers!

I noticed there are a few Virginia Gentlemen out there. Or am I getting confused with my bourbon. Does not matter.

If said gentlemen have had this beer brewed by Hardywood, I would be curious about your take on it.

I assume you are slightly happier than I am right now @cjgiant but there are two periods to go and I have some Hop on Top to change up stout night and hopefully change the luck of the Bs.

We only have three cats now, so I suspect two fewer topplings of the tree this year. Before I had the walls finshed, I would wire the tree to screws in the studding...

#2, this is as much an imperial brown ale as I am a power forward in the NBA, and I'm 5'9" tall and 53 years old. But it is an astonishingly good beer - the hops want to pound you into submission, but the cocoa in the malt keeps this in the general vicinity of "brown ale." I love this.

I understand. Fought many a Xmas tree battle over the years. Sometimes I was even successful.

New beer Wednesday, Prairie Artisan Ales Pirate Noir, 12% ABV, 60 IBU. Pours pitch black, medium viscosity, no head, no lacing. Nose is sweet rum, chocolate, and fruit. Taste follows with a bitter close. OK mouthfeel though some head would improve it. Overall excellent though I do prefer Pirate BOMB.

Went out looking for High Westified. Failed, but came home with a solid consolation prize.

Yeah, I would call this more a Brown IPA. Not as roasty as a black IPA but same idea. My last can had a shit ton of floaties fwiw.

Howdy BAs, it's been a little while! The Mrs. and I welcomed baby #2 a week ago today and this is the first chance I've had to kick back and enjoy a couple brews.

A local shop is blowing out 4-packs of this for $5.99. Seems like it's worth it, but not much more. Maybe the dry hopping is more compelling when fresh (this was bottled in June), but this is just pretty standard.

This is delicious as always.... Cheers!

Wednesday family date night! Italian tonight with a Birra Moretti...just a step up from water :slight_frown:. Biggest pisser-offer, this is an 11.2 oz bottle in what is clearly a 14 oz. shaker, but the bar is charging draft per pint !!! Bottles only here.
