New beer Thursday, Prairie Artisan Ales Barrel Aged BOMB, 11.2% ABV, 65 IBU. Pours thick and dark, with a little head on a fast pour. Nose is whiskey, vanilla, chocolate, and a hint of peppers. Taste is strong whiskey open, then chocolate, and a vanilla close with slight pepper burn. Mouthfeel was decent, had carbonation in this one unlike other reviews. Overall excellent, will have to pick up more while still on the shelves here. I like this more than regular BOMB and Pirate Noir, but not quite as good as Pirate BOMB. Has to be in my top 5.

One of my favorite beers to have on a cold night.

 

I raise my last Americano to one of the last true Americans, John Glenn. His hometown is only about 25 miles from me, and I played many baseball, basketball, and soccer games at John Glenn High School. In fact one of my sons just played soccer there this fall and I tried to explain/make sure my kids knew the history. In a world of false idols, and "heroes", we lost an actual hero today. He put his life on the line for our country, and for mankind.

Prairie Artisan 2016 Christmas Bomb

 

Another local Mass brewery making some really nice beer. This is quite better than I was expecting. Super tasty 9% hop juice with a fruit nectar like sweetness. Is it starfruit? dragonfruit? Something I haven't tasted before? Pretty exotic and tropical tasting. Cheers!

 

I was sent a very cordial BM from our friend @mschrei reminding me it was actually 36 years and not 25 years ago that Lennon was lost to the world. Obviously I can't count since I'm familiar with the incident. So thank you for the correction and next time you don't have to be so nice.....Cheers!

 

Stopped by the store down the street real quick to pick up some Celebration. Grabbed a 12 pack and was walking up to the counter. Eyed up some Heyoka on the way and then the price, $6.49 a 4/pack. Put the Celebration away in a hurry and bought half a case of Heyoka.
