Can anyone recommend a place with good beer that will be relatively low key on New Years Eve in San Francisco?

    Thanks for your help.

Apologies for the "San Fran;" this will be my first time in CA. San Francisco it is.

I was hoping a brewery/craft beer bar would have some event going on during the evening.

Most of the NYE events in SF are pretty extravagant, and the breweries don't really get in on it. Cellarmaker is only open until 6pm but that's where I would be. If you are looking for a place that is likely doing something and is beer oriented then I would look into Barrel Head Brewhouse. That would probably be more low key but you would NOT be downtown if that's what you're looking for.

The locals call it "Sanny Fernandy".

Hi guys, sorry to hijacking a thread, a quick question. I was looking at the tap list of Toronado, and there were number and a letter along with the tap list. For example, Cable Car 2008 - 1RB / Cable Car 2016 - 1LT. There are also L and R... can anyone tell me what these mean? Thanks

That is for the bartenders, it is the location in their cellar.

Thanks for being the only helpul person on this thread. Both of your suggestions look good.

With all of the threads I have helped people on where to go in the Mid-Atlantic region, I can't recall any instances of ball breaking over something insignificant like this...

If you really want low key just hit fieldwork for some crowlers during the day and enjoy them in your room wherever you are staying. That or fill a growler at cellar maker. The city was crazy last night with all the holiday parties going on so I can only imagine new years eve.

Churchkey in North Beach is a great mellow spot with a solid tap list that will be mostly regulars on NYE.

Went to Mikkeller a few years ago before a show on NYE. It was pretty quiet for the most part. I don't think they do anything special for NYE though.
