Beer in Omaha, NE

My thoughts exactly. Their aged whiskey, gin and bourbon are all very good but, other than Pils and Epic Blackout Stout the beers have been pretty meh imo.

 

I'm a big gin guy, but i found theirs to be pretty retched. I really love the idea of using hops in gin though, I hope they can tweak that recipe and figure it out. I've yet to be impressed by any of their hard stuff, but maybe I'll have to give them another go.

Their vodka is more like tequila than vodka

 

I dont like anything about Brickway, beer, liquor or customer service. I was in the taproom a while back on a Saturday early afternoon, there were probably 4 total customers. I sat at the bar for about 10-15 minutes prior to any employee saying one word to me. 2-3 employees walked back and forth talked to each other and sampling different things pulled from the back room. It was really unbelievable, to be honest. Finally I was asked if I needed something.... hmmmm, no ill just sit at a brewery and watch you talk to your friends. Maybe it was a one off experience, but it soured me to their whole operation.

 

eh, i've had service issues there too. Granted, not as bad as this. But this is a recurring problem I've heard from several people

I went this morning at 9 to get a few bottles of Light Speed, I was told Wednesday that they might be "getting something else too". I was hoping they were hinting at King Sue so I asked about it and got one from behind the counter. I then drove as fast as I could to Broadway and got one off their counter. The auction this is completely rediculous. If they didn't want to just put it out and sell it maybe have a lottery for regular customers?

 

Who's been to the new Thunderhead Taproom in Omaha? If so, how is it? All Thunderhead beers or do they have guest taps?

 

Haven't been but I know they had darkness on recently (yesterday I think)

 

They have a couple guest taps, pretty nice environment. It is definitely a place you should check out, as it is a good environment and has pretty good beer, especially for its location within Omaha.

 

I popped in tonight, cool little place. Going to be great in nice weather with that sweet outdoor space. BH yep they had Darkness on, along with Christmas Bomb and Americana as guests. I'll go again for sure.

 

Any word on when The Abyss will hit stores?

 

Beertopia had '14, '15, & '16 today. Didn't see any variants.

They're also killing it with crawlers. Got Prairie Paradise yesterday (gone now) and Darkness today.

 

One case of Brandy Abyss came in Friday (not on the Jbros truck but dropped off later by our Jbros rep) and that is all. Sold out extra quick as Friday was super busy (around 2.5x-3x the sales of a typical Friday)

...And it's been selling fast ! Limit of 2, only a dozen or so left folks!

 

I snagged one of those MMJs. ISO eggs and bacon. Anyone see bombers of TG in CB since the infamous King Sue drop?
