How Many Beers Do You Consume During One Sitting?

27 y/o here, usually drink 0-1 per week-night (Mon-Thurs) due to working 6 AM to mid-afternoon Monday through Friday. Sometimes when I get home from work or with dinner I'll have one, or chill with a beer between the hours of 7-9 depending on ABV and whatnot.

Fri and Sat nights depend on company to some extent, but on Friday I try to catch up with reviews and may drink anywhere from 4-7 "standard drinks" (usually close to 3-4 stronger and/or larger format beers with a lower ABV 12 oz in there for good measure). Saturday I usually am doing beer maintenance or brewing with my homebrew partner, and toward the end of the day, we can rack up a decent bottle count, though almost everything is shared 2-4 ways making it tough to calculate what we each actually drank. On Sundays I enjoy participating in NBS, so I'll have one or two then as well, but usually won't open anything new after like 7 due to the new work week approaching.

 

I choose 4-6 as I never have just one and two seems to be a tease. During the week one or two times may have 2-3 but weekends (were made for Michelob) I'll do more when at home. When we go out, never more than 2-3 over the course of an evening out to be responsible, now if I'm not, than I tend to make sure I'm not.

Usually I only have 1-3 depending on abv. Abv is all over the place, but if it's over 10 it's usually 1 beer. Sometimes I do cut loose and have a few more than I should.

 

I usually have about a pint or 2 a day usually a milk stout by lefthand with abv of 6...lately I have been tinkering with stronger stouts around 8-10abv and usually will just have 2. It is actually a scientific fact that if you are a male and consume a pint or 2 a day it is good for your cardiovascular system and liver...for females I think it is a pint to a pint and a half a day. Beyond that is considered to be unhealthy and depending who you talk to...boarderline alcoholism...although IMO as long as you aren't drinking a 6 pack a day you'll probably be ok.

 

I drink almost everyday, 1-3 beers, as much as I enjoy drinking I HATE being drunk. I have no issue calling it quits halfway through a night out

 

Intersting question. Like so many other people have said it depends on the context.

Tonight - probably 2. Going to watch the Golden State Warriors take on the Portland Trailblazers, and one per half works well.

Usually, if I have a pint after work on a work day - it's one.

If I'm out with friends I always limit it to 3. At most. I look at it more from the per week scenario, and always try to have it at less than 10 per week. Of course that can change - for instance it's my sister-in-law's wedding in Hawaii over the Christmas Break. I have no doubt I'll have more (new beer scene and all).

 

2 or 3 on weekday nights. Little or nothing on weekends, because that's when I have to get up earlier for longer shifts. Monday and Tuesday is my "weekend". Hooray for working in retail.

 

Usually I'll drink three days a week, and those nights will be 3-4 beers on average. Some random nights I may have a single bottle of something, or a homebrew on tap.

I'm in the industry so on average I probably have two work related beers at lunch or events per week. Otherwise I normally have maybe three or four beers at home throughout the week. Some I have more, others I don't drink. It depends on which new releases hit Indy and how many boxes I've received recently. I normally only drink one beer at a time.

 

At a calorie count similar to soda pop, I can drink two lower abv beers a day without any worry. I like more of course. I could do 4 but once you start mixing abv's I am not able to keep up. I also would prefer not to have a lot of different styles of beer that are high abv. For instance I will have one baltic porter, even the whole bomber, instead of a 4 different styles.

 

65- 6 a month. This is a better math than years before. I get to vicariously enjoy plenty more on these pages.

 

I am the only drinker in our house, so generally limit myself to one. Most beers I drink are 8.5% ABV to 13% ABV, so that's equivalent to two or three "normal" 4.2% ABV beers. Over the years, I've occasionally been called upon to help with car issues, and I don't like being too drunk to drive. When the kids are over for the holidays, that's when I go for multiple or maybe a high ABV bomber.

 

The real answer was 1-3 but I went with 2-3. One beer if it is a "school night" (if I work the next day). Seldom more than three...I drink a lot of water if I do so I don't get hungover. It ain't worth it at this age. Like others, I watch the ABV when having more than one.

I don' really like being drunk, just getting a nice buzz! I think that is the general consensus by the results. That shows that most of the responders are more interested in quality than quantity and enjoying beer rather than using it as a drug.

I have a friend who only drinks to get bombed. I think that is very hedonistic now, but did the same thing when I was young.

Two bombers a night keeps me feelin' alright.

On weeknights, I tend to have one, maybe two. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are a different game. I'll have anywhere from one to four. It just depends where I'm at, or what other events I have that day. Sunday is usually saved for laundry, ironing, and drinking two or three for New Beer Sunday.

I put 2-3 for the poll, since it's a pretty good average for my week.

 

I try to keep an eye on my calorie count, but weekends are cheat days (calorie free!), so I drink what I want. I do one shot (sipped, not shot) sometimes during the week in lieu of a beer to save calories.

 

I'm a daily imbiber, 40 years young. If you consider a "sitting" to last 6-8 hours, then I can (slowly) polish off ~4 (12oz) beers. On days where time is limited, I usually opt for two 16oz cans...life is too short to abstain the beauty that is craft beer.

 

1-3 depending. I used to drink every single day. Honestly 4-8 beers a night. But now i drink maybe once a week. And its very little.

 

6+...session IPA's with lower ABV.....I work 2nd shift so early mornings don't apply. Usually drink 2-3 times a week but rarely on the weekend
