Fargo Roustabout Oatmeal Milk Stout

 

Just back from a in-law gathering in Arkansas. Time to get my drink on, Breckenridge Mountain Fresh Hop Series Citra PA ( forgot I already ticked this one ) Boomer Sooner!

Earlier this evening, hanging at my friend's basement bar drinking multiple fresh ones of these (Best By Date all the way to June ).



And now? A new one from Three Heads (at least for me), and 101 IBU's? Yes please. (Then again, any more, age is just a number too. ) Bought it for our tasting on Wednesday night but decided the host needs to make sure it's worthy to be served, can always buy another bottle.



And what's up with this Rose Bowl score? Is this a football or basketball game?! (Both teams need to fire their defensive coordinators. )

Bare Hands Brewery Peanut Butter Chocolate Stout. Pretty much a liquid Reese's peanut butter cup. Could use a touch more sweetness, but no question the most peanut butter-forward beer I've had up to now. These guys are definitely the most underrated brewery in Indiana.

 

Ok, I talked Pooh into allowing me a VA beer (since I am actually a UVa fan). So I chose Hardywood BBA Barleywine, a lovely brew that should have its next release I think somewhat soon.



Don't tell that guy in the background, but his happiness is in part because his team benefited from two iffy calls (late hit on McSorley slide and the non-fumble; the targeting was legit, though it unfortunately involved an ejection).

Regardless, if the Trojans end up winning and you don't see me post for a few days, call the medics, I might have been mauled by a bear.

 

I'm not sure where in NC you are, but Bruisin Ales in Asheville just got a delivery today (posted on Instagram) so I would expect other areas in NC to be getting some this week.

 

Rushing Duck Imperial Beanhead. Whoa. This is fantastic. Nice silky feel. Big time coffee. Chocolate for days. I don't think I was ready for how good this is.

If my fucking youngest decides to fall asleep any time soon we're watching the last 2 episodes of The OA. Last post of a good 3-day weekend. Cheers all.

 

Gotta love Hardywood. Ok. I live just ten miles from the brewery and my be a bit biased.

But they can brew some good stuff.
