regular/irregular, idipa, super egoipa, and mosiac dub?

2017 is pretty kick ass so far.

I found EGO to be extremely temperamental. In that one was either indulging in a sweet, syrupy mess, or a dank, thick, well-balanced ale. Perhaps subjective, but playing around with the temperature was definitely key, especially when one’s entering into the IPA realm of 10%+…With the right mindset, and the perfect temperature, EGO was a beautiful sipper

I look forward to the 3rd iteration in this line. I'll be swinging by tomorrow to make some purchases for the weekend. My beer fridge has local brews but the orange cans are taking over my wine fridge. Excellent start to 2017

IDIPA is definitely the winner of the 3 for me. Enjoyed the journey to see an IPA evolve. Never experienced a brewery advertise that's what it is and compare the 3. If I had to rank ID>Superego>EGO oddly enough. Mosaic dubviant is great. The coffees taste even better this year if that's even possible. Also, Shipwreck is shockingly still available. Carton is killing my paychecks at the moment. @augiecarton the only thing missing is I keep getting the "run around" when looking for a sixtel of boat. Is there a secret password or handshake I don't know about ?

boat and odub are the hardest sixtels to get at least in my experience. I don't know if there is a secret password or not

OK so I stumbled into Superegoipa last night, just rolling through for some Boat and Id. Superego is absolutely insane for the ABV. Dialed in as well as or better than the very best batches of All Green Everything, in my most humble opinion (though a new batch is coming Saturday . . ) there is 0 heat to Superegoipa. Zero. None. I didn't love Ego so this just blew my mind.

    Modub was also good obviously

I appreciate the clarification regardless. Absolutely no need for apologies. As a first time visitor I appreciate any and and all information, regardless of intent.

I'm definitely headed up there on saturday afternoon before I head to my folks place to watch the football game. I hope there is some Mosaic O'Dub left but I'll definitely be getting whatever I can get my hands on. Excited for SUPEREGO too.

Cheers and thanks for everything you do!

Augie didn't answer my question, but can anyone else on here clear up those pronunciations he was trying to give us regarding the ID, EGO and SUPEREGO beers? I mean, I couldn't follow it at all. Plus I know the Epitome was plain wrong. Were they all a joke? I must know.

To really nail down those pronunciations...Well, can't think of a better example(s) than a few video tutorials (first few seconds)

Hah was about to post that video as well, though Augie's post was clear to me (except the Cookie Monster comment) lol.

FYI just got some super fresh odub and IDIPA t Gary's in Madison.

Thanks. That was helpful. I guess he's using more of a Latin A instead of e for ego. The eepa was throwing me too.

I'm guessing the Cookie Monster has to do with Epitome being the metalhead brew. Dude on the side of the can looks like he's rocking out with said Cookie Monster voice.
    Rock on Epitome dude.

I will accept that I'm wrong and continue to pronounce the IDIPA and Ego families incorrectly, because I like it better. Maybe it's an Ocean County/Monmouth County thing. For the record though I know I'm incorrect in my pronunciation

I'm with you. Sounds awkward to me. I think it's fine just to use ID, EGO and SUPER EGO and leave off the rest.

Wait does Augie pronounce all IPA's EEE-PAH's

Like there's no way pronouncing it I-P-A is wrong as it's literally an acronym for India Pale Ale. Actually, not that I think about it he regularly correctly calls IPA's I-P-A's on the podcast.

I feel like I already know the answer. I brewed this beer and that's how it's pronounced, but I will take further comfort in my choice to address these beers as their corresponding words in the English language are pronounced. IDIPA is the only one a case could be made for. Ego IPA and Super Ego IPA no way.

He's just fucking around. Like choosing to pronounce "cicerone" in phonetic Italian.

    I will pronounce them as:

    "ih-dih-pah"
    "ee-goy-pah"
    "soo-peh-reh-goy-pah"

And I will do so with confidence.
