I've never looked in the South Atlantic forum for information about VA beers. I've lived in NOVA most of my life and I've always known it to be the Mid-Atlantic.

While I think this discussion is somewhat ridiculous, I believe his point is that BA lists Virginia as being included in the South Atlantic forum, even if people generally consider it to the mid-atlantic.

It's clearly the NOVA vs the rest of VA split, this only helps prove its a real thing. It didnt occur to me that we didnt have a specific Veil or Hardywood thread, though i totally agree that VA is 100% mid atlantic. My intial reaction when i saw that move post was, "wait, isnt NC mid atlantic too?"

Why not just move the entire state of Virginia to the Mid Atlantic forum where it should have been in the first place? Makes no sense to split up the DMV area.

I've brought this up repeatedly in the past, staff here are just hardheaded, logic is useless. Its best to just not keep mentioning it, everything was fine and would have stayed that way if people hadn't brought it up. Forget about this being an active thread now, nobody who lives anywhere near Aslin checks the South-Atlantic forum. But hey, at least now we're consistent with arbitrary US Census classifications.

Anybody crack a can of Dunley Place from Thursday's release? I'm getting alot of funky onion notes that I didn't expect. I haven't had Dunley before. Experienced Aslin tasters is this how the brew normally taste?

I drank a couple of mine, I didn't get any onion notes but it wasn't as good as I had hoped from a DDH beer with 2 of my favorite hops. I will say the can I had yesterday was better than the one I had Thursday so maybe just needs some time.

I've found this to be true wit other DDH Aslin beers, notably the most recent Neutrino release. They drink "green," but are absolutely amazing when sat on for 5-10 days or so. I would give it some time.

I would definitely do that. I opened my last 750 of DOS on saturday, and it was the best bottle of those I had, wish I had sat on really all of my other bottles til then, although they were taking up a lot of prime fridge space. I have only 1 MoK left from that batch.

Luckily it looks like the release frequency is increasing, so you can 'condition' your cans while being able to drink the 'ready' ones.

Lots of stuff contrasting Fairfax and Loudon Counties as environments for starting or estabishing a craft brewery, I wonder if that's a hint.

Excited to see Aslin heading up to do a collab with Kane in NJ. I had Kane's Head High IPA for the first time recently, and it's very, very good.

Definitely c/growlers of the beers they just canned (BSB and Ontario) plus anything leftover from prior weeks, maybe a stout or two.

How have the can releases gone? Thinking about going tomorrow and curious what time I need to be there.
