Good morning and Happy Friday BA's! Well, I've been learning a lot lately. For one, 60 mph winds and wooden fences don't like each other...still ! And two, good thing I have a reliable Staff to keep me on track. Maybe I'm becoming a typical complacent worker. Maybe I've been too distracted. Maybe I should just stop and get on with the Glass of the Day Awards!

    GotD:
I guess my statement about winning his first of 2017 lit a spark under @dcotom . Cheers and congrats for the second day in a row, this time for this silver rimmed and trimmed fish bowl of a tulip. Or is it a squished thistle :astonished:?
2nd: It's been awhile since we've seen @stephens101 up at the podium, but this is quite the gold-rimmed Boulevard chalice. It's a verrrry nice!
3rd: Might as well keep with the theme. Out to @SawDog505 for this gold rimmed gem, and the nice assist yesterday !

Honorable mentions go out to to a couple of well used vessels. First, @Barracudas for his Ocelot IPA glass, and to @Premo88 for an extra voluptuous weizen glass.
Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon!

    GotD.

With all the not so serious matters behind me for today, it's time to get serious! This latest barrel aged gem from Greenbush can run with the best of style in my opinion. The price isn't for the faint of heart at $24 a four pack, but I don't plan on dying a millionaire. My phone is acting strange today on the site deleting parts of my post and getting jumpy. I hope it doesn't melt down on me.

    Cheers to Friday!

    What goes with lunch . . .

    Score 3.83
    look: 3.5 | aroma: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Light brown with orange tint, tan cap with moderate lacing.

Aroma is rich, caramel toffee malt with a covering layer of fresh yeast bread.

Taste is straight forward darker malt without roasty bitterness. Not complex but flavor aplenty like a well made brownie. Sweetness is restrained giving more a sense of sweet without really tasting sweet. Entry is clean, rich dark malt which flavor sustains throughout. Hops are present but way in the background. Clean quick finish which carries a bit of breadyness into the aftertaste.

    Medium body without any heaviness.

Overall it's a winner. The more Bells I try the more impressed I am with their consistent level of competency. They know how to design and make quality stuff. Brown Ale, like a grey business suit, isn't a flashy style but is always acceptably correct. My real test when approaching a new beer is whether I would buy more and this is one I would buy by the case.
