I imagine he meant the cost of the bottle ruined by the opener.

+1, M12 was a standout. Tragically, my first time running into the limitations of the new store was when I had bottles of M12 in my cart in one of the special sales late last year, and I got to checkout and they had disappeared :slight_frown:

Yea they credited us the bottle. Something like $21-$22.

People who have had their RS welcome stuff shipped....for a 12 bottle shipper...does the glass count as 1 spot? I think I have 11 pending bottles right now

^ You'd have to purchase a medium merch for your welcome package (excludes the bottles).

Same here. Same bottle date. It was a couple weeks ago after the reports, but mine was fine. Stored in a Michigan basement since I got it.

Ya. They thankfully send me a new one after mine broke. I'm just going to keep it in a drawer and use my regular opener.

Amongst the negativity and nitpicking that typically gets posted here, just wanted to comment that I had a mash and french toast over the weekend and it was exceptional.

I have not been wow'd by any of the mash batches/variations since its inception but this one is just phenominal. It is a front runner for one of the best new to me beers ive had in awhile.

That label on the White Chocolate page would have been appropriate in 2013 and 2014

I reached out to them last week after my broken bottle incident with the RS opener but they haven't rectified the issue. What information did you need to present in order to get the bottle reimbursement?

I just emailed the society and explained my situation. They shipped it to me. Now I originally paid to have my items shipped to Michigan. Don't know if that matters if they'd ship to you if you picked it up.

Infected = Sour = Sour in the Rye.

I think you guys have jinxed us all on broken bottles. Opened a '16 Filmishmish last night with my regular opener, broke a chunk right off the crown.

Starting to sound like the bottles themselves are infected.

Indeed, as others have said, it's an infection joke... which makes me feel dirty inside. I opened up more than a few of the 2013s, hoping to find one that tasted right. No dice... all sour apple (in the rye?) and acidic tartness.

But no big deal, they'll fix it for 2014 right? Eh, sort of... 2014 wasn't really infected, but there was a significant tartness that took away from the overall flavor profile. Still really disappointing.

Maybe I'm the lucky one, but I've opened about 10 bottles with my RS opener with zero issues. Admittedly though, I'm usually pretty slow and methodical about opening bottles so maybe I'm just being gentle on it.

You spelled infected wrong. Just kidding. I am looking forward to cracking it. Glad to see some positive posts here for a change!
