What beer are you drinking now? #1570

I've been pretty hot/cold on this thread since joining the site mainly because I'm lazy, but I'm going to try using imgur now (thanks for the suggestion @bowzer4birdie) and include fewer details about the beer I'm drinking and see how it goes. First, a couple brews from yesterday (yes, I know it's not 'now'):

Founders Porter (have had a lot) and Deschutes Black Butte Porter (have never had) - a suggested (and provided) comparson from @cjgiant ... boy, that was a lot of parenthesis. Lisp anyone?



Deschutes black butte porter:
Light tan head
Mild opacity
Light Roasty notes
Light malt smell and flavors
Light to medium body

Founders porter:
Dark Roasty tan head
No opacity
Smells of light smokiness
Chocolate and coffee
Roasted malts
Mild bitterness
Medium to full bodied

This one surprised me a little. Founders Porter has always been one of my favorite beers (and one of my first craft brews). I like bitter flavors, but the malty flavors from Deschutes kept drawing me in.

There is no conflict in which is better, I have simply found another great porter.

 

Glad you liked it, and I must say I'm a little surprised as well, given your proclivities .
