Went downstairs for the free grub and a free Miller Lite. They also had these little cheesecakes that I thought would pair well with what was going to be a Throwback Thursday beer last week, my last 2013. Edit: This is F'ing amazing!

I was reading BA magazine ealier tonight and saw an ad for this beer. If a picure can sell a beer, this one sold me. Coupled with the high comments tonight, I most definitely gotta try it.

Wow! Had this beer a couple years ago and wasn't very impressed. At 19.3% it was a boozy muddled mess. However, I opened one I'd been aging for 2 years today and it was fantastic! Got the heat on the nose but once I sipped it I was floored. Coulda passed for 10-12%. Amazing! The oak really helped to offset the sweet raisin notes. Mouth feel was decadently thick. So good. I'd brought a 1-1.5yr old clown shoes cognac barrel aged billionaire to a bottle share for the game Sunday and was really disappointed but this reminded me of everything I love about a good barley wine. Starting to think 2 years is my minimum on aging barley wines. Cheers my good brothers and sisters!

A BIG shout out to @russpowell !!! Came home to an unsolicited box of some pretty sick barrel aged stouts and a first time ever having this great beer, what a humble example of a great beer advocate!! And I apologize to my wife, for the duration of this glass pour there's another MILF in my life.
