I really enjoy the blind tasting. I may include more wrapped bottles/cans in my target's boxnext round!
I agree, I enjoyed it. Plus it was a fun concept, everybody popping bottles together at a similar time.
Haven't been able to do my blind bottle yet but am planning on next Saturday, if any other slackers want to join me.
Late to post my #VBS from @Glustick but here we go: 12oz bottle, taped cap. As soon as I popped it, I was greeted by a familiar bourbon and booze aroma. Without even tasting, it reminded me of Goose Island BCBS. Poured a thick, smooth black, with even more booze and bourbon flowing with every drop, little to no head. If this was a BCBS, its obviously an older bottle. Full of bourbon, dark fruits, and smooth, this was obviously BCBS, but I wasn't sure which year. Going through my previous ticks, I settled on a 2014 since I haven't had that vintage. Pleasantly surprised to find a 2012 behind the label.Time has served this bad boy well, the usual booze burn had subsided, and this sucker flowed perfectly. Kyle dug deep and killed it! Thanks again man!
Seemed about right...should I edit or can there be a tie? Let's go with 212,119 miles. Those things are indestructible
#VBS blind from Saturday night Courtesy of @locoformavs Waxed white cap, 22 oz bottle. Pour is dark brown with reddish hints on the edge of the glass. Smell is light coffee and some sweetness that I can't quite place. Thin mouthfeel for what I'd guess is about a 10% abv Porter or Stout. Taste hints of coffee and Bourbon, both subtle and again some sweetness that's hard to place. Maple? Maybe the malts? Copper Kettle Bourbon Barrel Snowed In! Quite tasty and easy drinking. ABV is well hidden... Thanks Logan!
Man @valrxman , pharmacists and their old ass vehicles - it is rampant in the profession! I'm sure @ThreeFishes can testify. No guessing from me because my wife would just break any new glassware that came into the house but thanks for the chance Steve. See you in a month
@HeartofMiami I frequented the Rascal House growing up down there. We used to pool hop at the Colonial across the street.
